As part of students activity, Centre for Performing Arts, Gauhati University showcased cultural exhibits with the models of Kirtan ghar and set- design model of plays by the Post- Graduate students of Sattriya Dance/ Theatre Studies & Acting.

Practical activity of UG students at CPAC

We are proud to share that our students from the Centre for Performing Arts & Culture, Gauhati University delivered an inspiring street play as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 celebrations.
The event was organized by the Regional Headquarters, North Eastern Region, Airports Authority of India, Guwahati, and held on 31st October 2025 at VIP Road, near the airport.

The performance, based on the theme “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility,” effectively conveyed the importance of collective integrity and ethical responsibility in building a corruption-free society.

Day 4: The Faculty Development Programme on "Traditional Performance Practices of Assam: Sattriya Arts and Beyond", organized by the Centre for Performing Arts & Culture, GU in association with UGC-MM TTC, concluded with inspiring sessions that celebrated Assam’s rich cultural heritage.

Ranjumoni Saikia, SNA Awardee & Sattriya Exponent, beautifully presented the Repertoire of Sattriya Dance and gave a live demonstration of dance sequences in Ankiya Bhaona.
Dr. Prashanna Gogoi, Director NEZCC & Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee, enthralled the audience with his Demonstration of Traditional Musical Instruments in Assamese Music.
Pankaj Jyoti Bhuyan, renowned playwright & theatre exponent, shared profound insights on the Influence of Bhaona in Modern Play Writings.
Grateful to all the resource persons for their enlightening contributions and to everyone who joined us in celebrating the vibrant traditions of Assam.
