Admissions into undergraduate programmes (BTech) in IIITs are through the Joint Entrance Examination JEE. For postgraduate admission (MTech, PhD), the institute invites direct application from eligible candidates. The shortlisting and selection process is done by the Institute. The first Academic session 2013-2014 has started with B.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). IIITG now offers BTech, MTech courses in CSE, ECE & PhD in CSE, ECE, Maths, HSS.

Swachhata hi Seva Campaign 2026 began on 17 September 2026 at IIITG to mark a month long programme on cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, environment and health. Prof. Sarat Kumar Patra, Director, IIITG planted a sapling and shared about the significance of cleanliness in our daily life. This initiative will have multiple events till 17 Oct 2026. SANKALP: Extending a Helping Hand

As part of its annual flagship event SANKALP 2026, the IIITG Welfare Board organised a Cloth Donation Drive. In collaboration with Decathlon Azara, Assam, the collected clothes were distributed to flood-affected families, ensuring that the contributions reached those who needed them most.

A small act of kindness can make a meaningful difference. Together, let us continue to care, share and stand with our communities. Mr Priyanshu PAREEK and Mr Pradymn Ojha handed over the donation, other club members and volunteers of the IIITG Welfare Board contributed immensely.

The IIITG Welfare Board organised a Poster Making Competition to promote the TB Mukt Bharat Campaign, initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Our students participated enthusiastically, showcasing their creativity and spreading important messages on TB awareness, prevention, early detection and treatment.

As part of IdeaFest 2K26, the I&E Cell began the celebrations by commemorating Teachers’ Day and paying tribute to the legacy of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. Small tokens of appreciation were presented to our wonderful teachers as a gesture of gratitude for their guidance, support, and invaluable contributions.
The event then unfolded with an engaging and unconventional lineup centred around innovation, creativity, and technical learning. It began with a panel discussion featuring students and research scholars, bringing together diverse perspectives and fostering meaningful conversations on ideas, research, and innovation.

The session was followed by Flop Show, a fun and creative pitching challenge where participants were tasked with turning the worst ideas into the best pitches. The activity tested their creativity, spontaneity, wit, and communication skills while creating an energetic and entertaining atmosphere.

The event concluded with an insightful technical workshop conducted by Ansys, providing participants with valuable exposure to industry-relevant tools, technologies, and their practical applications.
