⭐️ Graduate Research Meet Day 2 ⭐️
Day 2 at GRM 2026 witnessed research scholars, faculty and attendees engaged in insightful discussions and presentations encompassing areas of Economics, English, History, Philosophy and Sociology.
Ending the event on a hopeful note, Professor Maitrayee Chaudhuri addressed the attendees as the Endnote Speaker on ‘Social sciences and modernity: Understanding the Contemporary Social.’📍
With concluding remarks from Faculty convenor Dr Abhishek Kashyap and Vote of Thanks by Student Convenor Shibani Krishnatraya the 11th edition of Graduate Research Meet 2026 finally came to a successful conclusion! 🎊 ✨

⭐️ Graduate Research Meet Day 2 ⭐️
The second day of the 11th edition of Graduate Research Meet held on 22nd January 2026 continued with zeal as 6 panels and 27 presentations and attendees displayed their presentations specialising in Economics, English, History, Philosophy and Sociology 🌷
A poster presentation was also conducted where students from MA Development Studies (IITG) presented their piece.

The Cultural Night at GRM 2026 introduced attendees to the rich culture of Assam 🌺
A heartfelt tribute to Zubeen da filled the stage, while beautiful renditions of local songs from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland encapsulated emotions, melody and stories ✨
The beautiful Sattriya dance and Borgeet captivated audiences’ attention. The audience cheered. A beautiful memory made~ 🎐

The department of Humanities and Social Sciences and Graduate Research Meet 2026 welcomed over 50 participants as they presented their ideas and research objectives in the 11th edition of Graduate Research Meet📍
Day 1 witnessed 3 sessions spanning 4 different panels each.
Evening at IIT Guwahati was welcomed by a cultural night where members of the IITG community provided a glimpse into various cultural songs and dance of Assam and other Northeastern states.

⭐️ Graduate Research Meet Day 1 ⭐️
The first day of 11th edition of GRM 2026 inaugurated on 21st January 2026, on a positive note as Deputy Director Professor Sukumar Nandi, Head of Department Professor Priyankoo Sarmah, The keynote speaker Professor Arjun Jayadev and endnote speaker Professor Maitrayee Chaudhuri, Faculty conveners (GRM’26) Dr Abhishek Kashyap and Dr Rituparna Patgiri, respective panel chairs, faculty, scholars and participants graced the programme.
Prof Arjun Jayadev spoke on ‘Why Humanities and Social Sciences are non-negotiable in an Age of overabundant intelligence’ engaging in critical comments and discussions with the audience.
The first day saw 12 panels with a total of 28 presentations. We thank all the panel chairs and participants for their meaningful contribution to GRM 2026 🌷✨

⭐️ Road to GRM ⭐️
DAY 5 of Pre-GRM workshop witnessed an insightful discussion with Dr Visakh Madhusoodanan Subha as he shed light into understanding ethnography as a methodological approach.
Explaining how positionality plays an integral part in anthropology and ethnographic research, Dr Visakh shared insight on research ethics, perceiving the social world and the larger structure of methods and methodology.

⭐️ Road to GRM ⭐️
DAY 4 of the Pre-GRM workshop session by Dr Mithilesh Kumar Jha delved into the various strategies useful in writing a research paper. Dr Jha spoke about the Four A- Aims, Audience, Awareness and Articulation integral for the process.
He further explained the DOs and DONTs of paper submissions and how to steer clear of predatory journals.
