Letter puzzles and sound association game
4 year old love puzzles and we added a simple chart with letters to make puzzle making a little more interesting.
How to play:
1. Scatter the puzzle pieces around the room
2. The child needs to find the puzzle pieces that go together and then come and match it to the sound on the chart paper.

NUMBER NAME PARKING GAME:
Since boys and cars are never a bad idea, we whipped a new game for them!
STEP:
1. Take a piece of cardboard
2. Use a sketch pen to draw a parking lot
3. Write number names in the lot
4. Say a number and the child has to park the car in the correct space
Add ons:
1. Introduce 1 or 2 dice. Roll the dice, and the child has to place the car in the corresponding space.
2. Play the game with sight words
3. Play the game with letter sounds
4. Draw dots, say a number and ask the child to count and then place the car in the corresponding lot.

Greater than Activity!
Our little ones are obsessed with counting apples at the moment, and they are still mastering the counting technique.
We added another step by asking them to compare 2 apple trees side, count the apples and see which tree has MORE apples

Counting with Animals!
It can be quite a task to teach counting to young children specially without concrete objects.
So we used animals and made if fun!

FUN ADDITION!
We tried a fun addition activity using an addition board made from scratch and some pompoms.
This activity was so hands on. And the pompoms made it really colourful and fun
I got the opportunity to introduce the + sign and = as well.

Sharing a rare and sweet moment I witnessed today.. Children of less than 4 years are usually not so good at sharing, but today I saw a child helping out his classmate with his work.

GUESS THE MISSING NUMBER ACTIVITY:
We love a DIY ACTIVITY.
We made this out of cardboard.. just made a grid, wrote numbers, made cutouts to cover the numbers.
STEPS TO PLAY:
1. Teacher hides 5 numbers using tokens
2. Child has to guess the number hidden and write against the corresponding columns

SHAPE RECOGNITION ACTIVITY!
Even if you think the child knows all the shapes, revisit them from time to time. Use pictures of differently shaped objects/actual objects- ask the child to recognise the shape and then categorise

PATTERN RECOGNITION AND PATTERN MAKING.
We tried this pattern making activity suffested by .and.me
This was a great activity to increase
1) colour recognition
2) number recognition
3) eye-hand coordination
4) pincer grip and so much more!

MISSING NUMBERS using tambola board.
Use a tambola board and then cover up some numbers using beads. Ask the child to guess which numbers have been covered using forward/backward counting!

LANGUAGE ACTIVITY: Letter Matching
This is one of the most favourite activities for me as well as the students.
(I love it because it keeps them occupied for longer)
This is a simple letter matching activity in which I have used a piece of styrofoam I had lying around and some icecream sticks.
ADD ON ACTIVITIES:
a) case matching
b) picture and sound matching
