Remembering Zubeen Garg — First Death Anniversary

On the first death anniversary of Zubeen Garg, we remember the legendary voice, musician and cultural icon whose music touched hearts far beyond Assam.

His songs became a part of our memories, his voice became a part of our identity, and his contribution to Assamese music and culture created a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.

Today, we light a small earthen lamp in his memory—with gratitude for the music he gave us and reverence for the life he lived.

फैकल्टी उच्चतर माध्यमिक विद्यालय में हिंदी दिवस समारोह

फैकल्टी उच्चतर माध्यमिक विद्यालय, उत्तर गुवाहाटी में आज हिंदी दिवस हर्षोल्लास एवं उत्साह के साथ मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर प्राथमिक शाखा के नर्सरी से कक्षा पाँचवीं तक के नन्हे-मुन्ने विद्यार्थियों ने प्रातःकालीन सभा के दौरान आयोजित विभिन्न गतिविधियों में उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया।
विद्यार्थियों ने अपनी रचनात्मक प्रस्तुतियों, मधुर कविताओं, सुंदर सुविचारों एवं उत्साही सहभागिता के माध्यम से हिंदी भाषा की समृद्धि, सुंदरता और महत्त्व को प्रभावशाली ढंग से प्रस्तुत किया। विभिन्न गतिविधियों के माध्यम से बच्चों को हिंदी के प्रति रुचि विकसित करने तथा इसे संवाद, साहित्य और सांस्कृतिक अभिव्यक्ति की सशक्त भाषा के रूप में समझने का अवसर मिला।
नन्हे-मुन्ने विद्यार्थियों की मनमोहक प्रस्तुतियों ने प्रातःकालीन सभा के वातावरण को आनंदमय एवं हिंदीमय बना दिया। यह आयोजन बच्चों के लिए ज्ञानवर्धक, आनंददायक एवं प्रेरणाप्रद रहा ।

फैकल्टी उच्चतर माध्यमिक विद्यालय, आमिन गाँव, उत्तर गुवाहाटी में हिंदी दिवस बड़े उत्साह, गरिमा एवं हर्षोल्लास के साथ मनाया गया। विद्यालय में विभिन्न ज्ञानवर्धक एवं प्रेरणादायक कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया गया।
कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ हिंदी भाषा के महत्व एवं उसकी समृद्ध विरासत पर प्रकाश डालते हुए किया गया। विद्यार्थियों ने हिंदी दिवस के पावन अवसर पर सुंदर एवं प्रभावशाली भाषण, ‘आज का सुविचार’ तथा अन्य रचनात्मक प्रस्तुतियों के माध्यम से अपनी प्रतिभा का परिचय दिया। विद्यार्थियों के वक्तव्यों में हिंदी भाषा की सरलता, मधुरता, व्यापकता तथा भारतीय संस्कृति में उसके महत्वपूर्ण योगदान को रेखांकित किया गया।
अंत में हिंदी भाषा के प्रति सम्मान एवं प्रेम की भावना को सदैव बनाए रखने का संदेश देते हुए कार्यक्रम का समापन किया गया।

Sankardev Tithi Observed at FHSS

Faculty Higher Secondary School, North Guwahati observed the 458th Tirobhav Tithi of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev on 12 September 2026 with reverence and devotion. The Principal, teachers and staff paid humble respects to the great saint, philosopher, social reformer and cultural icon of Assam. As part of the observance, the staff rendered soulful Kirtan Ghosa and Borgeets, creating an atmosphere of spiritual reflection and devotion. Through his teachings and the Ekasarana Naam Dharma, Sankardev transformed Assam’s spiritual, social and cultural landscape. His ideals of devotion, equality, compassion and unity, along with his immense contributions to literature, art, music and culture, remain an enduring legacy.

Celebration of the 100th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika

Faculty Higher Secondary School, North Guwahati, observed the 100th Birth Anniversary of the legendary music maestro Dr. Bhupen Hazarika with great enthusiasm and reverence.

A special Morning Assembly was conducted by Dr. Bhupen Hazarika House (Orange House). The students presented a thoughtful message, a heart-touching poem, and a scintillating violin performance by the House Captain, Master Pragyan Jutilip Kalita.

Adding to the tribute, the school choir group HARMONIA, under the aegis of STIMULUS – The Performing Arts Club, presented a special two-song chorus dedicated to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.

The Middle Section and Primary Section also commemorated the occasion through a variety of heartfelt performances by the students, celebrating the timeless musical and cultural legacy of the Bard of the Brahmaputra.

KRISHNOTSAV 2026 – PRE-JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS 🪷

2 September 2026 | Faculty Higher Secondary School, North Guwahati

As part of KRISHNOTSAV 2026, the school organised a series of engaging and thought-provoking activities to celebrate the spirit, values and teachings associated with Lord Krishna.

Students of Classes VII, VIII & IX participated in Matka Painting, showcasing their creativity through vibrant and traditional designs. They also took part in a lively Krishna Quiz, testing their knowledge of Krishna’s life, teachings and cultural significance.

Students of Classes X, XI & XII participated in Sloka Recitation, presenting verses with devotion, clarity and expression. This was followed by a Philosophical Discourse, where students explored the deeper wisdom and timeless relevance of Krishna’s teachings.

The celebrations beautifully blended creativity, knowledge, spirituality and reflection, making KRISHNOTSAV 2026 a meaningful learning experience for our students.

The festive spirit of Krishnotsav 2026 filled the campus with joy, creativity and cultural expression as students across the Primary Section participated enthusiastically in a series of Krishna-themed activities.

Our youngest Facultians embraced the celebration in vibrant Krishna-inspired attire and participated joyfully in the traditional Matki Phor activity.

🎨 Classes I, II & III
Drawing & Painting
Young artists brought their imagination to life through colourful artworks inspired by Lord Krishna and the spirit of Janmashtami.

🎭 Classes IV, V & VI
Role Play – Shri Krishna
Students stepped into Krishna-themed characters, presenting engaging performances that reflected the charm, values and stories associated with Shri Krishna.

The celebration provided our students with a wonderful opportunity to learn, create, perform and connect with India’s rich cultural heritage while celebrating the timeless spirit of Krishna.
