CBSE: No re-test for Class 10 maths paper
=====================================
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided against holding re-examination of Class X Mathematics paper. The Board, sources said, approved the decision this morning (3 April,2018)after its assessment of a random sample of answer scripts showed no major departure from the performance of students in their internal assessment. An order announcing the decision against holding re-test will be issued in a few hours.

CBSE has first announced that it will hold re-test of the Class 10 mathematics paper and Class 12 Economic paper on March 28 after the Board chairperson, Anita Karwal, received an email at 1.29am containing contents of the mathematics paper. Although CBSE had first denied reports of the Class 12 Economics examination being compromised, Karwal had told reporters last week that students had written to her with more information which made the police reasonably suspicious that the this paper may also have been leaked.
On March 30, the HRD Ministry announced that the re-examination of Class 12 paper will be conducted on April 25, but refrained from declaring a date for Class 10 students on the ground that it is waiting to assess the impact of the alleged leak.

CBSE Class 12 Economics paper to be held on April 25
=================================

The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct Class 12 Economics paper on April 25. The Union HRD Secretary Anil Swarup informed that they might conduct Class 10 Maths paper for students from Haryana and Delhi only. If they plan so, it will be held only in July. However, the dates for the same has not been announced yet.

Swarup further said for Class 10 re-examination, the decision will come out in 15 days. “As leak was restricted to Delhi and Haryana, if it at all a re-exam will happen, it will happen only in Delhi and Haryana and a decision will be taken on this in next 15 days. If at all a re-exam is done, it will be in July.” The Secretary also said that their “immediate concern is for the children who have suffered and this decision is in that context. We will nail the person who did this.”

The CBSE Class 12 Economics paper was held on Monday while the Maths paper was conducted on Wednesday this week. The paper leak rumours were buzzing all over the social media, much before the two papers were conducted. However, the CBSE has been denying the reports. It was only on Wednesday that the Board decided to re-conduct the exams.
