🎓 Congratulations to our Interns! 👏
Guwahati Biotech Park (GBP) congratulates Ms. Chandi Yadav (Ph.D., Food Technology, NEHU, Tura) and Ms. Prerona Nath (M.Sc., Food Technology) on the successful completion of their 2-week internship programme at GBP from 5th–22nd January 2026.
🔬 During the internship on “Basic Techniques in Herbal Extraction, Biomolecule Profiling and use of Sophisticated Analytical Instruments,” the students gained hands-on exposure to:
Herbal extraction techniques
Biomolecule profiling methods
Operation and application of advanced analytical instruments
Laboratory best practices and research workflows
The internship was carried out under the guidance of Dr. Saurav Dey, Scientist, GBP and Dr. Prajjalendra Barooah, Research Associate, GBP, whose mentorship and support greatly enriched the learning experience.

Internship Completion | January 2026
Ms Kashmiri Sona Daimari, Ms Helena Daimary, and Ms Marami Baro from the Department of Zoology, Bodoland University successfully completed an internship program at Guwahati Biotech Park (GBP) during January 2026 on the topic “Proximate Analysis of Insect Samples and Application of Modern Analytical Instruments in Biotechnology.” The programme provided comprehensive hands-on training in sample preparation, proximate analysis, nutritional profiling and the use of modern analytical instruments, enabling the interns to gain practical insights into biotechnological applications and research methodologies. The internship was carried out under the expert supervision of Dr. Bula Choudhury, Senior Scientist, GBP, and Dr. Rajiv Chandra Dev Goswami, Research Associate, GBP. We sincerely hope that this internship will help them enrich their knowledge and strengthen their research orientation toward emerging areas of biotechnology and insect-based studies, and we wish them every success in their future academic and research endeavors.

Internship completion at GBP
We are pleased to share that Ms. Samrika Talang from the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) successfully completed a 120-hour internship programme under NEP, titled “Herbal Extraction Techniques and Biomolecular Profiling of Phytochemicals” conducted during the months of December 2025 to January 2026 at GBP.
The Internship programme was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Bula Choudhury, Senior Scientist, GBP, Dr. Rajiv Chandra Dev Goswami, Research Associate, GBP. The program provided extensive hands-on exposure to herbal extraction methods, sample preparation, and advanced analytical equipment-based biomolecular profiling of phytochemicals. The programme aimed at strengthening practical research skills and analytical understanding in the area of natural products and phytochemical analysis. We wish Ms. Samrika Talang continued success in her academic and research endeavors.

Successful Completion of Educational Exposure Visit at Guwahati Biotech Park
We are delighted to share the successful completion of the educational exposure visit of PM SHRI Agdala Chariali Higher Secondary School, Kamrup, Assam, at Guwahati Biotech Park (GBP) on 07 January 2026.
Around 100 enthusiastic students, accompanied by their teachers, visited the Technology Incubation Centre (TIC), GBP as part of an initiative to promote experiential learning and holistic development. The students received a guided tour of the facilities and were introduced to GBP’s pivotal role in advancing scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the biotechnology sector.
The interactive sessions offered valuable insights into how scientific ideas are translated into real-world applications and entrepreneurial ventures, effectively bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry exposure.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the entire team of Agdala Chariali Higher Secondary School for visiting Guwahati Biotech Park and inspiring young minds toward science and innovation.

GBP Team Participates in KVK Field Day at Ukhura, Panikhaiti (Hajo) 🦆🌾
The Guwahati Biotech Park (GBP) team comprising Dr. Bula Choudhury, Senior Scientist, GBP; Dr. Rajiv Chandra Dev Goswami, Research Associate, GBP; and Mr. Nabajyoti Das, Project Assistant, BICFA, GBP, actively participated in the Field Day programme organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kamrup under the Front Line Demonstration (FLD) on Productive Performance of Vigova Super M Duck.
The programme was held on 03 January 2026 at the residence of Mrs. Anita Das, Ukhura, Panikhaiti, Hajo.
During the field visit, the GBP team interacted with KVK scientists, progressive farmers, and local stakeholders, and observed the on-field outcomes of the FLD interventions. The interactions offered valuable insights into farmer-centric innovations, effective technology dissemination, and the critical role of scientific support in strengthening sustainable agriculture in Assam.
Such collaborative, field-based engagements highlight GBP’s commitment to bridging laboratory research with grassroots implementation, promoting agri-biotech innovations, and supporting farmers through science-driven solutions.
GBP looks forward to further strengthening its collaboration with KVKs and agricultural institutions for inclusive and sustainable rural development.

Guwahati Biotech Park (GBP) is pleased to share the successful completion of the internship programme by Mr. Rohit Saha (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal), Mr. Adhiraj Shome and Mr. Manajit Dutta (University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya).
The internship was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Bula Choudhury, Senior Scientist, GBP, and Dr. Rajiv Ch Dev Goswami, Research Associate, GBP, on the theme:
“Tools and Techniques in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, and the Role of Advanced Instrumentation in Biotechnology Research.”
During the programme, the interns gained valuable hands-on experience in:
