The programme, being organised by MANAGE-CIA – Centre for Innovation and Agripreneurship in collaboration with Guwahati Biotech Park, will bring together Agri-Startups, entrepreneurs, farmers, agricultural stakeholders, institutions, ecosystem enablers and other key stakeholders to facilitate meaningful connections and explore opportunities for collaboration.

The initiative aims to create a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, networking, partnerships, mentoring and market linkages, while strengthening connections between emerging agri-startups and the wider agricultural ecosystem of Assam and the Northeast region.

Through this collaboration, MANAGE and GBP along with its Business Incubation Centre for Fisheries and Aquaculture (BICFA), seek to foster stronger linkages among agri-entrepreneurs, innovators, institutions and ecosystem partners, creating new avenues for innovation, collaboration and growth in agriculture and allied sectors.

Guwahati Biotech Park was pleased to welcome Ms. Brahmadatha Maya Reghurajan, Senior Technology and Innovation Adviser, UK Science and Technology Network, on 16 September 2026.

Ms. Reghurajan leads initiatives in Critical Minerals & Advanced Materials – Policy, Projects and Partnerships, and also serves as the Science and Technology Lead for East and Northeast India.

During the visit, she interacted with the GBP team to understand the ongoing activities, research initiatives, innovation ecosystem and technology-development efforts being undertaken at the Park. The discussions also explored potential areas for future UK–India collaboration, particularly in science, technology, innovation and emerging technology domains.

The interaction provided an excellent opportunity to exchange perspectives on strengthening international partnerships and creating new avenues for collaboration between innovators, researchers and institutions from the UK and Northeast India.

We look forward to building meaningful partnerships that can strengthen the region’s growing innovation and biotechnology ecosystem.

Proud to Share: SSC, Guwahati Biotech Park Reaching Across the NER! 🍄🌿

We are proud to share that the outreach and impact of the Skill Satellite Centre (SSC), Guwahati Biotech Park has been featured in The Morung Express, Nagaland (a popular, English-language daily newspaper based in Nagaland, India)

The news highlights the one-day learning and training cm exposure visit of 10 youth from Chendang village, Tuensang district, Nagaland, focusing on mushroom cultivation, spawn production, vermiculture and composting.

As part of this initiative, the participants attended a full-day hands-on training programme on Spawn Culture Techniques and Mushroom Cultivation at SSC, GBP, led by Dr. Bula Choudhury, Senior Scientist,GBP and SSC team.

For SSC, GBP, this is more than a training programme — it is a step towards taking skills, knowledge and livelihood opportunities beyond geographical boundaries.

From Assam to Nagaland and across the North Eastern Region, SSC, GBP continues to strengthen its outreach by connecting with rural youth, aspiring entrepreneurs, students and communities, promoting practical skills and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

🍄 From Spawn to Harvest: Building Skills for Sustainable Agri-Biotech & Entrepreneurship! 🌱

Skill Satellite Centre (SSC), GBP successfully organized its 9th Capacity Building Training Programme on Spawn Culture Techniques & Mushroom Cultivation under the Technology Development and Utilization Program for Women (TDUPW), DSIR, Government of India on 15th September 2026 at GBP

🌿 Key Sessions & Expert Insights

🔹 “Mushroom Cultivation and Spawn Culture: A Step towards Sustainable Agri-Biotech” by Dr. Bula Choudhury, Senior Scientist, GBP

An interactive introductory session highlighting the fundamentals, opportunities and potential of mushroom cultivation and spawn culture as sustainable livelihood avenues.

🔹“Sustainable Approaches in Spawn Culture and Mushroom Cultivation” by Ms. Nilofar Yasmin & Mr. Nabajyoti Das, Project Associates, SSC & BICFA, GBP. The session focused on sustainable practices, cultivation approaches and the scope for skill-based entrepreneurship.

🔹 “Comprehensive Equipment Support for Mushroom Cultivation and Nutritional Profiling” by Dr. Rajiv Chandra Dev Goswami, Research Associate, GBP. Session included the tour of lab facilities, showcasing the role of laboratory equipment, scientific analysis and nutritional profiling in strengthening mushroom-based research and production.

🔹 Practical Session I – SSC Laboratory, GBP

Participants experienced a guided SSC laboratory visit and hands-on demonstration of spawn culture processes and Oyster mushroom cultivation methods, connecting theory with practice by Ms. Nilofar Yasmin & Mr. Nabajyoti Das, Project Associates, SSC & BICFA, GBP .

🔹 “Button Mushroom Cultivation Process: Substrate to Harvest”: A practical and experience-driven session covering the complete cultivation journey—from substrate preparation to harvesting by Mr. Pradip Das, Founder, Baba Mushroom Farm, North Guwahati, Kamrup.

The programme also provided valuable opportunities for networking, interaction and knowledge exchange among students and trainee participants.

The 5-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) at GBP concluded on 11 September 2026 with an inspiring day of knowledge sharing, entrepreneurial insights, reflections and celebration. ✨

🎯 Exploring Entrepreneurship & Innovation

The final day featured insightful sessions by:

🍷 Kaustoov Goswami & Dhruba Jyoti Deka, Founders, Dream Hives Pvt. Ltd., who shared their entrepreneurial journey and insights into driving innovation in the alco-beverage industry through AS01 Wines.

🐟 Mutum Lamnganbi, Co-Founder, SusBiome Private Limited, delivered an engaging session on her research journey & sustainable practices, highlighting the importance of innovation and sustainability in developing future-ready enterprises.

🧪 Dr. Bula Choudhury, Senior Scientist, Guwahati Biotech Park, shared valuable insights and encouraged participants to explore the entrepreneurial potential of Assam's rich bio-resources, innovation ecosystem and emerging opportunities.
The programme concluded with a memorable Valedictory Ceremony and certificate distribution in the presence of the EDP organizing team, GBP. The ceremony provided participants an opportunity to share their thoughts, experiences and key learnings from the 5-day journey. Over these five days, the programme went beyond classroom learning—transforming students from learners into idea explorers.

Day 4 of the Training Programme on Bio-Entrepreneurial Skills for UG/PG Students of Assam, organized at GBP with support from NABARD, was packed with insightful sessions, practical learning and entrepreneurial thinking! 💡

Gut Microbiome & Traditional Foods: From Heritage to Enterprise
An inspiring session by Prof (Dr.) Mojibur Khan from Institute of advanced study in science and technology (IASST), exploring how traditional foods and indigenous knowledge can be transformed into innovative bio-enterprise opportunities.

DPR Concept & Hands-on Session
Dr. Tribeni Saikia, Business Coach | NLP Practitioner | Entrepreneurship and MSME Consultant, guided participants through the fundamentals of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and their practical application in developing viable business ideas. The session also included an interactive round with idea pitching and problem solving.

The day concluded with an engaging discussion around the homework theme “entrepreneurial mindset build up and self analysis with the process of preparing/submitting proposals under the Assam Startup Call for Proposals.

EDP on Bio-Entrepreneurial Skills
📌 :Day 3 Highlights; 9th September 2026 |
The 3rd day of the Training Programme on Bio-Entrepreneurial Skills for UG/PG Students of Assam, organized by GBP with support from NABARD, was filled with insightful sessions focused on leadership, business planning, entrepreneurship and startup opportunities.

🔹 Soft Skill Development for Leadership & Start-ups

An engaging and interactive session by Dr. Dimple Choudhury, Assistant Professor, Assam Down Town University (ADTU), focused on developing essential leadership qualities, effective communication, confidence and soft skills required to build and lead successful ventures.

The session also featured interactive idea-pitching by participants, encouraging them to present their entrepreneurial ideas, articulate their value propositions and receive constructive feedback.

🔹 Business Canvas & SWOT Analysis
Sri Ratul kumar Das, Consultant / Mentor on Entrepreneurship Promotion and Business Development from Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) , introduced participants to practical approaches for developing business models and analysing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats—helping students transform innovative ideas into viable business ventures.

🔹 Startup & Incubation Opportunities
Shri Kankan Jyoti Kharghoria, Senior Manager – Incubation, Assam Startup – The Nest, shared valuable insights into the startup ecosystem, incubation support and opportunities available for aspiring entrepreneurs in Assam.

The sessions encouraged students to think innovatively, understand the entrepreneurial ecosystem and develop practical strategies to transform ideas into sustainable ventures.
