The down town Charity Trust was formed in 1997 by the down town hospital ltd. The urge to do something for the underprivileged and deprived section of the society led to the formation of down town Charity Trust. Apart from doctors, the members of the Trust include Engineers, Educationists and other professionals from various walks of life. The down town Charity Trust is promoted by down town hospital ltd., the first corporate multi specialty hospital in North Eastern India. It has a distinguished name in the healthcare industry, serving the people of Assam and the North Eastern Region with its expertise for the last 23 years.

Assam down town University successfully organised the 3rd Alumni Meet โ€“ Bangalore Chapter 2026, at Radisson Blu Hotel Atria, Bengaluru, bringing together AdtU alumni residing in Bangalore to reconnect with their alma mater, strengthen professional networks, and celebrate shared memories.

Dr. Samannoy Baruah, Director (i/c) of Alumni Affairs and President, AdtU Alumni Association, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of a strong alumni network in fostering mentorship, career guidance, and institutional growth. Dr. Nayan Talukdar, Associate Director of Alumni Affairs, further emphasised these initiatives, while Dr. Rimjhim Baruah, Director (i/c), Directorate of Career Advancement, interacted with the alumni.

The interactive session also saw alumni sharing valuable suggestions to enhance industry exposure and strengthen university industry connections. Adding to the spirit of celebration, the evening featured a Musical Band Performance and Alumni Fun Fiesta, followed by networking, dinner, and informal interactions.

The memorable gathering concluded with alumni reminiscing about their university days and reaffirming their commitment to staying connected and contributing to the continued growth and success of Assam down town University.

Pharmacovigilance plays a vital role in identifying, monitoring, and reporting adverse drug reactions, helping healthcare professionals ensure that medicines remain safer for everyone.

A key highlight of the AdtU Eminence in Research Awards & Research Reward Ceremony 2026 was the inaugural lecture of Distinguished Scientists Lecture Series delivered by Dr. Shannon Olsson, Founder and Global Director of the echo network and associated with the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).

Drawing on over 25 years of experience across research, science and interdisciplinary work, Dr. Olsson shared perspectives on the evolving landscape of scientific research and the importance of connecting research with real-world challenges. Her presentation brought together insights from her academic and research journey, encouraging researchers and scholars to think beyond disciplinary boundaries and explore new approaches to scientific inquiry.

Dr. Olsson also presented the research rewards to the recipients, marking the launch of the Distinguished Scientists Lecture Series at AdtU.

Assam down town University successfully organised a Photography Workshop, hosted by the AdtU Photography Club under the theme โ€œCapturing Moments. Creating Perspectives. Telling Stories.โ€

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Virendra Singh, Professional Photography Mentor, who introduced students to the creative and technical dimensions of photography, including composition, framing, lighting, perspective, and visual storytelling.

The interactive session encouraged students to view photography not merely as the act of capturing images, but as a powerful medium of creative expression and storytelling. The workshop provided a meaningful learning experience, bringing together creativity, observation, and practical skill development.

A special appreciation to the resource person and all the students and members of the AdtU Photography Club for making the workshop a memorable one.
