Against this evolving landscape, the Department of Commerce, Gauhati University is organising an International Seminar on “Creating Resilient Business Ecosystems in the Current Geopolitical Environment” on 6–7 October 2026.

গুৱাহাটী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ৰ প্ৰাংগণত অসমৰ প্ৰাণৰ শিল্পী জুবিন গাৰ্গৰ সংগীত, সৃষ্টিশীলতা আৰু অনবদ্য অৱদানৰ প্ৰতি গভীৰ শ্ৰদ্ধাঞ্জলি জ্ঞাপন কৰাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে ‘জুবিন অনুৰণন’ শীৰ্ষক এক বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

জুবিন গাৰ্গদেৱৰ কণ্ঠত কেৱল গানেই নাছিল, আছিল অসমৰ মানুহৰ অনুভৱ আৰু আমাৰ সমাজ-সংস্কৃতিৰ এক গভীৰ স্পন্দন। তেওঁৰ সৃষ্টিৰাজিয়ে অসমীয়া সংগীত জগতত যি অনুৰণন সৃষ্টি কৰিছে, সেই অনুৰণন আজিও প্ৰতিটো প্ৰজন্মৰ হৃদয়ত সজীৱ।

জুবিন গাৰ্গদেৱৰ স্মৃতি আৰু সুৰৰ মায়াজালক পুনৰ সজীৱ কৰি তোলা অনুষ্ঠানটোত গুৱাহাটী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ৰ উপাচাৰ্য অধ্যাপক ননী গোপাল মহন্তদেৱৰ লগতে অতিথিৰূপে ড⁰ পামী বৰঠাকুৰ, শশাংক সমীৰ আৰু ৰূপম ভূঞা উপস্থিত থাকে।

Indo-Bhutan two-day Symposium 2026 | Day 1

The first day of the Indo-Bhutan two-day Symposium 2026 was held today at Gauhati University, bringing together students, researchers and faculty members from across Northeast India and Bhutan to exchange ideas on climate change, food security and holistic well-being.

The day began with the inauguration of the Prof. H.K. Baruah Memorial Lecture, Prof. N.K. Das Memorial Research Innovation Award and the Indo-Bhutan Symposium, followed by academic sessions and parallel technical discussions.

Prof. Kumananda Tayung, Professor & Head, Department of Botany, GU and Convener of the symposium, delivered the welcome address.

The invited speakers included Dr. Yezer, Dean of Academic and Industrial Linkage, Royal University of Bhutan; Dr. Karam Yoezer, Professor of Economics, Royal University of Bhutan; and Prof. Akhil Ranjan Dutta, HOD, Department of Sociology, Gauhati University.

The sessions were chaired by Prof. Madhushree Das; Prof. Padmini Bhuyan Baruah; Prof. Ratul Mahanta and Prof. Nilakshee Devi, with Prof. Dhrubajyoti Sahariah; Prof. Asha Kuthari Chaudhuri; Prof. Bhaban Tanti and Dr. Pankaj Bharali as Co-Chairs.
