11 September 1893 | A Voice from India that the World Heard 🇮🇳

On this day, Swami Vivekananda delivered his historic address at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago. Beginning with the unforgettable words “Sisters and Brothers of America,” he presented India’s civilizational message of religious tolerance, universal acceptance and human brotherhood before the world.

His message was clear: different faiths may follow different paths, but humanity shares a common destination. He strongly condemned sectarianism, bigotry and fanaticism and called for harmony among religions.

11 September 1893 remains a landmark moment in India’s intellectual and spiritual engagement with the world.

What is a Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO)? Why is it so important for Earth-observation satellites?

A Sun-Synchronous Orbit is a special type of near-polar orbit in which a satellite passes over a particular area of Earth at approximately the same local solar time on each visit. This provides similar lighting conditions, making images easier to compare over time.

🌍 Why is SSO important?
✅ Earth observation & remote sensing
✅ Weather and climate monitoring
✅ Agriculture and crop assessment
✅ Forest and environmental monitoring
✅ Mapping and disaster management
✅ Consistent satellite imagery due to similar sunlight conditions

Many Earth-observation satellites use Sun-Synchronous Polar Orbits because they can systematically cover large portions of the Earth while maintaining consistent observation conditions.
