The students of 6th Semester, Department of Physics, Arya Vidyapeeth College, visited the Department of Physics, IIT Guwahati on the occasion of the International Day of Light celebrated on 16 May 2026. The programme was organized by the SPIE IITG Student Chapter and focused on the theme “Photonics for Innovation.”
The event began with the inauguration ceremony followed by a series of insightful lectures delivered by distinguished professors from IIT Guwahati and BHU. Prof. Rakesh K Singh, Prof. Pravat Kumar Giri, Dr. Debabrata Sikdar, and Dr. Rishi Maiti delivered engaging talks on various topics related to physics, photonics, and advanced research. The lectures were highly informative and inspired the students to learn more about modern developments in science and technology.
After the lecture sessions and lunch break, the students also visited advanced laboratories and instrumentation facilities at IIT Guwahati, which provided valuable exposure to practical research environments. Overall, the visit was an enriching and memorable learning experience for all the students.

The Department of Physics, Arya Vidyapeeth College, proudly congratulates Dr. Krishna Kingkar Pathak on the publication of his single-author research article, “Universal exponential scaling of isotope-dependent quantum tunneling splittings” in the journal Chemical Physics.
This significant contribution reflects the growing research excellence of the Physics Department and highlights impactful work in quantum tunneling, isotope effects, and nonlinear dynamics. The work has been dedicated to the memory of his Ph.D. supervisor, Prof. Dilip Kr. Choudhury, whose guidance and legacy continue to inspire generations of physicists.

On the occasion of National Technology day, a "Robotic Skill Workshop" was organised by the Department of Physics and Department of Computer Science at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) which was attended by the students of the Department of Physics of Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous). The workshop not only enhanced the participants' knowledge of robotics but also encourage young minds to contribute to technological advancements and innovation in the future.

The Dept. of Physics take immense pride in congratulating Dr. Krishna Kingkar Pathak on the publication of his latest research paper in Chemical Physics, a reputed international journal published by Elsevier, with an impact factor of 2.4 and a CiteScore of 4.2.
This marks his fourth single-author publication, reflecting a remarkable journey of independent research, exceptional dedication, and sustained scholarly excellence.
On this festive occasion of Bihu, this achievement stands as yet another gift from Dr. Pathak to our academic community — a true blend of cultural celebration and intellectual contribution.

The Entire Department proudly congratulate to Dr. Krishna Kingkar Pathak, one of the faculties from dept on the publication of his research paper titled “Consistency of Dalgarno–Lewis perturbation theory for confining two-body systems: second-order corrections in the Cornell potential”, published in the reputed journal Few-Body Systems (Springer Nature) on 23 March 2026.

We feel extremely happy to share you that Dr. Krishna Kingkar Pathak, Associate Professor, Department of Physics has successfully received his third Design Patent (Design No. 463982-001) for a “Smart Kitchen Waste Management Device for Integrated Resource Generation”.

Physica (Vol. 3) & Kalavatika (Vol. 5)
We are happy to share that the Department of Physics successfully inaugurated the latest editions of its two departmental e-magazines earlier today.
· Physica (Volume 3): The technical e-magazine, edited by Raja Sharma.
· Kalavatika (Volume 5): The literature e-magazine, edited by Borsha Adhikari.
We were deeply honored to have Prof. Gazi Ameen Ahmed from Tezpur University as the Chief Guest, who officially launched the e-magazines and addressed the gathering. The event was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Dipak Mazumdar, Department of Physics, who served as the Teacher-in-Charge for both publications.

*Celebration of Einstein’s Day 2026*
– Department of Physics
in collaboration with IQAC
Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous)
The Department of Physics, Arya Vidyapeeth College, organized the celebration of Einstein’s Day on 13th March 2026.
As part of the event, a popular talk titled “ADITYA L1 and Onboard Solar Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (SUIT)” was delivered by Prof. Gazi Ameen Ahmed from the Department of Physics, Tezpur University. The session greatly inspired the students, who actively engaged with the speaker and showed keen interest in the ongoing space research activities at Tezpur University.
A science-based quiz competition was also organized, with enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. The quiz was conducted by our former student, Moyukh S. Basistha.
In line with the celebration, an Art Competition was held on the theme “Don’t Let Drugs Steal Your Dreams.” The winner was awarded a prize and a certificate.
Additionally, an intra-departmental Cover Page Design Competition was organized, and the winning design was featured as the cover page of the departmental e-magazine Physica, Vol. 3. All participants received medals and certificates for their contribution.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by the convenor, Dr. Dipak Mazumdar. Faculty members of the department were present throughout the program and actively contributed to its success.
