A eco club level workshop on upcycling of waste paper to reusable paper was conducted at Sri Aurobindo Vidyamandir High school, Guwahati under the wing of Environment Education program which was sponsored by Assam Science Technology and Environment council, on 19 th September'2026.
The program started on a solemn note , embedded with profound feelings as this day marked the first death anniversary of our revered figure,Late Zubeen Garg.
Homage was paid to him with deep reverence, at his portrait and everyone remembered him through his most loved song ,which was played around that time.
After which,our chief guest Shri Simon Bordoloi, who is the executive Director,Rwaa and District Co-ordinator,EEP, Kamrup Metro,was felicitated with a gamocha .
The program proceeded with a describing note from the nodal teachers, Sangeeta Dey and Surajita Goswami ,who briefed the students about the workshop.Shri Simon Bordoloi also delivered a short speech on this same topic,highlighting about the need of the hour,centering on global warming ,cleanliness and saving our resources.
The nodal teachers carried the program forward by conducting the experiment on making new paper sheets from old paper pulp.
This workshop awakened a lot of interest in the students.
The program was also graced by a few students from Royal Global University ,who took note of every proceedings.
A few paper samples also shown to the students and other members including the teachers at the onset of the workshop.
Later the students were divided into groups and they too took part in the workshop by making a few paper sheets from the paper pulp.
The students were told about innovative creations by adding colours,petals and seeds.
This workshop threw light on several aspects of environment natural resources and other related factors.
The workshop ended with a vote of thanks.
