A Small Request to Students & Parents Seeking Career Guidance
I received a call today around noon from a parent enquiring about MBBS admissions in India and the approximate budget. Like always, I answered the call because I believe every career-related enquiry deserves to be heard patiently and respectfully.
As part of our counselling process, I requested the student’s NEET scorecard so that we could properly assess the score, rank and eligibility before giving any specific guidance. This is a routine and necessary step—we do not believe in giving students incomplete or generic information without first understanding their academic profile.
Unfortunately, the student took the phone from her father and responded rather rudely, questioning why the scorecard was required when she had already mentioned her score and rank. When I explained that the scorecard was needed for proper analysis, the conversation ended on an unpleasant note. Shortly afterwards, our business profile received a 1-star rating.
I am sharing this not to target any individual, but to make an important point.
We receive career-related calls from as early as 8:00 AM and sometimes as late as 11:30 PM. I and my team genuinely try our best to attend to enquiries and provide guidance whenever possible. But a counselling service cannot always be handled like an information centre where detailed advice can be expected instantly over a phone call.
Good career guidance requires time, information and a proper conversation.

And finally, I believe that respect works both ways. Students and parents deserve patience and professional guidance, and professionals providing that guidance deserve the same courtesy in return.
