At the close of the World Forum Foundation 2026 in Malaysia, delegates stood together in a powerful commitment chain—each voice united in one promise: to advocate for every child, everywhere.

We commit to action across the realities children face daily:
child poverty, inequality, and economic exclusion;
lack of access to quality early childhood education;
malnutrition and food insecurity;
inadequate healthcare and mental health support;
violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation;
child labor, trafficking, and modern slavery;
disability inclusion and access barriers;
gender inequality and discrimination;
racial and ethnic injustice;
statelessness and lack of legal identity;
forced displacement, migration, and refugee crises;
climate change and environmental harm;
lack of safe water, sanitation, and hygiene;
digital inequality and online safety risks;
family separation and breakdown of protective systems;
cultural erasure and loss of indigenous identity;
limited access to safe play and holistic development.

This is more than words—it is a shared responsibility.
Every child deserves dignity, protection, belonging, and the opportunity to thrive.

Bohag Bihu (or Rongali Bihu) is a seven-day Assamese festival marking the New Year, celebrated in mid-April.

The Seven Days of Bohag Bihu (Rongali Bihu)

Garu/Goru Bihu (Cow Bihu): The first day, dedicated to washing, worshipping, and feeding cattle, usually on the last day of the Assamese month of Chot.

Manuh Bihu (Human Bihu): The first day of the new year, when people wear new clothes, seek blessings from elders, and eat special food like pitha (rice cakes).

Gosai Bihu (Gosain/Gohain Bihu): The third day, dedicated to worshipping household deities and praying for a good year.

Kutum Bihu (Family Bihu): A day dedicated to visiting relatives and enjoying meals together.

Tator/Nangol Bihu (Weaving/Agriculture Bihu): Focuses on cleaning, repairing, and starting agricultural tools and looms.

Jiyori/Senehi Bihu (Daughter/Beloved Bihu): Dedicated to inviting married daughters home or celebrating love .

Pitha and laru are very important traditional foods of Rongali Bihu, the Assamese New Year festival. They represent love, happiness, and togetherness among people.
Pitha is made from rice flour, coconut, sesame, and jaggery. It shows the richness of Assam’s agriculture, especially the harvest of new rice. Different types of pitha are prepared at home and shared with family and guests as a symbol of warmth and hospitality.
Laru (laddoo) is made using ingredients like coconut, sesame, and rice powder. It symbolizes sweetness and joy in life. Preparing laru together brings family members closer and keeps traditions alive.
Both pitha and laru are not just food—they are a part of Assamese culture and identity. They make Rongali Bihu more special by spreading happiness, unity, and festive spirit.
