Ms. Jyotika Hazarika, Research Scholar, Department of Economics, Assam Don Bosco University, presented her Ph.D. submission seminar on “Strengthening Food Security: A Critical Appraisal of the Public Distribution System in the Selected Districts of Assam” under the supervision of Dr. Ananya Kashyap, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics. The study examines the effectiveness of the Public Distribution System (PDS) in ensuring food security, identifies key implementation challenges, and offers policy recommendations to improve the accessibility, efficiency, and transparency of the system in Assam.

The Department successfully conducted the dissertation presentations of MA 4th Semester students on 8th and 9th May 2026. The presentations provided students with an opportunity to showcase their research findings and engage in academic discussions. The evaluation was carried out by distinguished external experts, namely Dr. Saurabh Chandra, Head of the Department of Public Administration, Assam Don Bosco University, and Dr. Pankaj Kalita and Dr. Zacharias Tirkey, Assistant Professors Department of Public Administration, Assam Don Bosco University. Their valuable insights, constructive feedback, and scholarly observations greatly enriched the academic exercise and contributed to enhancing the quality of students' research work.
