White’s Thrush
While the country is relaxing on a national holiday, let me make it more interesting for you by sharing an interesting behaviour of animal world and one of the many wonders of the nature, which I witnessed last month in South Korea.

In one of the forests of South Korea, where I went specifically looking for birds, I found one White’s Thrush foraging in thick foliage on the ground under dense canopy of tall trees. Barely any ray of Sun light was reaching to that that foliage, directly. While I did not notice anything unique about the bird and kept clicking pictures and videos of the bird, just like any other bird, when I downloaded them on my laptop and was going through them, the videos of White’s Thrush spooked me.

The bird was swaying its body left and right intermittently, as if it were dancing. But what spooked me was its HEAD. While it was standing at one position, moving its whole body left and right, its head was standstill at the same point and did not move even a milimeter.

Ways of nature to mesmerise us, all the time.
