Day 4 of the 3EP Immersion Programme for Special Educational Needs (SEN) educators from Bhutan focused on inclusion, neurodiversity, self-esteem, digital literacy and reflective planning at Excelsior American School.

Workshop: Beyond Labels: Understanding Neurodiversity in the Classroom
Dr. Princee (Head – YOUnique: Special Needs Department, Excelsior American School, Gurgaon) facilitated a session on understanding diverse learning profiles and inclusive classroom approaches.

Workshop: Inclusion & Self-Esteem
Ms. Deepti Sawhney (CEO and Founder, Mahattattva) along with Ms. Vibha Puri (Manager - EdTech, Mahattattva) explored strategies to build supportive and confidence-enhancing learning environments.

Workshop: Integration & Action Planning

Participants visited classrooms across YOUnique, gaining valuable exposure to inclusive teaching practices, learner support strategies and individualized approaches designed to support students with diverse learning needs.

🎨 Art Session for Special Need Students
Ms. Akansha Mahalwal (Counselling Psychologist, Excelsior American School) facilitated an engaging art session encouraging self-expression, creativity and emotional exploration through collaborative activities.

🧩 Workshops on ASD Behavioural Assessment & Interventions
Ms. Akanksha Agarwal (Facilitator Trainer at Soch Foundation and Special Educator) conducted insightful sessions on ASD behavioural assessment, interventions and behavioural management. The workshops explored observation techniques, behavioural understanding and practical strategies to support regulation, learning and meaningful engagement for children on the autism spectrum.

Ms. Ambita Verdi (Director – Soch Foundation and Educational Consultant) facilitated insightful sessions on basic inclusion assessment, assessment tools and methodologies, as well as individual needs assessment techniques and specific interventions. The workshops encouraged educators to explore observation techniques, learner-centered assessment practices and targeted intervention strategies to support diverse learning needs in inclusive classrooms.

💛 Social Emotional Learning Session (SEL)
Ms. Simmi Udayan (Psychologist, Excelsior American School) led a session focused on social emotional learning, highlighting the importance of emotional wellbeing, empathy and supportive learning environments in the educational journey of children.

💬 Beyond Words: AAC & PECS in Everyday Communication
Ms. Pooja Pallavi (Speech Language Pathologist, Excelsior American School Gurgaon) and Ms. Ayushi Sharma (Speech Therapist, Execlsior American School, Gurgaon) conducted an engaging workshop on practical communication strategies using AAC and PECS. The session focused on visual supports, functional communication skills and integrating alternative communication approaches into everyday classroom routines.

This role offers hands-on exposure to academic operations, programme implementation, teacher training support, content development and EdTech integration. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to meaningful educational initiatives.

It is a trainee role with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position based on performance.

💻 Google India Workshops
A series of engaging sessions led by Ms. Vibha Puri (Manager – Edtech, Mahattattva) introduced participants to programmes such as Google’s Super Searchers, Learning & Exploring Online, Learning & Exploring AI and DigiKavach. Through interactive activities and discussions, educators explored effective search strategies, responsible digital practices, AI awareness, online safety and the meaningful integration of technology in education.

Ms. Jyotsna Dullu (Head, Early Years) welcomed the delegates to Early Learning Village and offered a glimpse into its thoughtfully designed learning spaces, play areas, libraries and gardens that reflect the school’s experiential approach to early childhood education.
