The Day the Joke Finally Landed
For years, Ramesh avoided speaking English in public.
Not because he didn’t know words.
Not because he was lazy.
But because every time he tried to speak, he translated in his head, became nervous, and forgot everything halfway.
In our spoken English class, he was one of the quietest students.
Whenever others spoke, he smiled politely.
Whenever it was his turn, he said,
“Ma’am… I understand English… but speaking is difficult.”
One day during class practice, I gave everyone a simple task:
“Don’t try to speak perfect English.
Just speak naturally.”
Most students spoke about their day.
Some spoke about food.
Some made small mistakes and laughed.
Then suddenly, Ramesh raised his hand.
Very slowly, he said:
“Yesterday my wife told me to help in the kitchen.
I entered confidently…
and immediately became emotional support only.”
For two seconds, the class was silent.
Then everyone burst out laughing.
Not at his English.
At his joke.
And for the first time, Ramesh laughed too —
not with relief,
but with confidence.
Because that day, something important happened.
His English was no longer trapped inside grammar rules.
It had become communication.
That is the real goal of learning a language.
Not perfection.
Not memorized sentences.
Not fear.
Connection.
And sometimes…
confidence begins with one simple joke that finally lands.
✨ In my spoken English classes, I focus on natural speaking, confidence-building, and fear-free communication — because language grows best in a relaxed mind.

“Ma’am, today I spoke in English for 10 minutes without translating in my mind.”
That message made my day.
When this student first joined my spoken English classes, speaking even two sentences felt difficult for him.
Every time he tried to speak, his mind would first convert Hindi into English. By the time he formed the sentence, his confidence was already gone.
Like many adults, he believed fluency comes from memorising grammar rules and difficult vocabulary.
But the real problem was different.
He had studied English for years.
He had never acquired it naturally.
So I asked him to stop translating.
Instead, I taught him English the same way we all learned our mother tongue:
through listening, understanding, repetition, real conversation, and natural usage.
No pressure to speak perfectly.
No fear of mistakes.
Just consistent exposure and speaking in a natural environment.
Children learn a language naturally because they don’t translate.
Adults, however, have one big advantage:
they already understand patterns, emotions, situations, and meanings.
So when adults learn through the natural method, the process can actually become much faster.
You get:
• the natural learning ability of a child
• plus the understanding and maturity of an adult
And that combination creates real fluency.
A few weeks later, I received this message:
“Ma’am, today I spoke in English for 10 minutes without translating in my mind.”
That is the moment real spoken English begins.
Not when you memorise rules.
Not when you finish grammar books.
But when English starts coming directly from your thoughts.
That is exactly what I help my students achieve.
He had already tried multiple spoken English classes before coming to me.
By the time this student joined my classes, he had almost given up on learning spoken English altogether. He understood grammar, knew vocabulary, and had attended several courses — yet he still couldn’t speak confidently in real conversations.
His biggest frustration was this:
“I know English in my mind, but the words don’t come out when I need them.”
What I realized was that the problem wasn’t knowledge — it was the method. He had been taught to translate every sentence from Hindi to English before speaking, which made him slow, nervous, and hesitant.
So we changed the approach completely.
Instead of memorization and translation, I trained him to learn English the same natural way we all learned our mother tongue — by listening, understanding, speaking, and using the language in real situations.
Through natural conversation practice, speaking drills, and everyday communication exercises, he slowly started thinking directly in English instead of translating in his mind.
At first, progress was slow. But within a few weeks, something changed.
He stopped overthinking.
His responses became faster and more natural.
And one day during class, he spoke continuously for several minutes without translating even once.
The smile on his face that day is something I’ll never forget.
That experience reinforced something I strongly believe today:
Most people do not fail at spoken English because they lack intelligence — they struggle because they were taught the wrong way.
When you learn English naturally, the way you learned your mother tongue, fluency becomes much easier and more effortless.
If you understand English but still struggle to speak fluently, feel free to connect with me. Sometimes, the right method changes everything.
A Time When My Teaching Skills Saved the Day
One evening, just before an important college interview, one of my spoken English students called me in tears. She had excellent subject knowledge, but every time she spoke in English, she froze. Her confidence had dropped so much that she was ready to skip the interview altogether.
Instead of focusing only on grammar rules, I used my natural teaching method — helping her think and respond directly in English without translating from Hindi. We practiced real interview situations, short spontaneous answers, and confidence-building speaking exercises over a few intensive sessions.
By the end of the week, her hesitation had reduced dramatically. She attended the interview, spoke confidently, and later messaged me saying, “For the first time, I felt I could express myself naturally in English.” She eventually cleared the interview round successfully.
Moments like these remind me that spoken English is not just about language — it’s about confidence, clarity, and expressing yourself when it matters most.
Today, I help students and professionals become confident English speakers through practical, real-life communication training.
If speaking hesitation is holding you back in interviews, conversations, or professional growth, feel free to connect with me. Let’s work on making English your strength, not your fear.

1. Open your mouth more
Most Indian speakers keep the mouth too closed → sounds become unclear.
Tip: Practice saying vowels with a wider mouth:
A–E–I–O–U → exaggerate for 2 minutes daily.
⸻
🔹 2. Use the rule of stress
English is a stress-timed language — one part of the word is louder/longer.
Examples:
• TAble
• comPUter
• inFORmation
• reLAX
Tip: Stress the bold part. Instantly sounds clearer and more natural.
