BML Munjal University appoints BS Satyanarayana the pro-vice chancellor

MUMBAI: BML Munjal University founded by the Hero Group, has appointed professor BS Satyanarayana as Pro- Vice Chancellor.

With over 30years of professional experience in industry and academics, professor Satyanarayana is expected tobring a strong research and application focus to the University.

Satyanarayana holds a Ph.D in Electrical Engg in the area of Vacuum Nanoelectronics from Cambridge University UK. His areas of research interest include Nanotechnology, Large Area & Flexible Microelectronics, Renewable Energy, Sensors and Instrumentation, with a special focus on Sustainable & Inclusive Technology.

Over the course of his career he has worked in Industry, R&D labs, Academics and Government Agencies in India, UK & Japan including establishing and managing companies in Japan and working as Scientific Affairs Specialist, an Advisor on Environment, Science and Technology Issues in the EST Office, US Embassy, New Delhi in India. He has a deep understanding of the research and development ecosystem in India and overseas.

Announcing the appointment, Akshay Munjal, President, BML Munjal University said in a release:"Professor Satyanarayana brings to BMU a wealth of experience in interdisciplinary, experiential or immersive learning, research and innovation across the globe."

BML Munjal University appoints Ashok Kapoor as dean of corporate engagement

Hero Group-founded BML Munjal University has appointed professor Ashok Kapoor as dean, corporate engagement. With over 37 years of professional experience in industry and academics, Kapoor will be responsible for people development programmes (PDPs), placement committee and practice school activities, in addition to creating international and domestic continuing education opportunities.

Kapoor holds a B.E. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from BITS, Pilani and a Masters in Management Studies from the same institute. His industry experience includes stints in companies such as Voltas, Eicher, where he worked in areas of internal consulting, corporate materials, marketing, marketing services, training, corporate communications, corporate strategy and new products.

In the past 24 years, he has been actively involved in academics and training with All India Management Association (AIMA), ARM-TREE and MDI. Kapoor is active in social service and runs a trust named StMARG and mentors another one named VNAMR which work in the area of social entrepreneurship, value based education, health related projects and generating resources for other NGOs.

"Professor Kapoor brings with him significant academic experience; institution building capabilities and a unique depth of experience in the industrial sector," said Akshay Munjal, president, BML Munjal University said. "The university seeks to nurture leaders who are skilled, knowledgeable and have the life skills required for leading their organisations to success. I am upbeat on the outlook for creating a unique and transformative higher education initiative at BML Munjal University," said Kapoor.
