Sometimes, the moment that tests you becomes the moment that shapes you.

For Harbind Singh, from the 2016 to 2018 batch, one such moment came when an entire speech disappeared just before he was due to host a show.

What happens when technology moves beyond the classroom and into the community?

The answer begins with conversations that connect knowledge with real world challenges.

At IILM University Gurugram, the School of Computer Science and Engineering hosted SAMANVAY, Bridging Technology and Community Engagement, bringing together perspectives on how engineering knowledge, innovation and community engagement can work together to address challenges faced by society.

The session featured Prof. RS Rathore, Advisor to Swarna Jayanti Haryana Institute for Fiscal Management (SJHIFM) and State Project Director, Haryana State Higher Education Council, and Dr. Raj Nehru, Director General, Swarna Jayanti Haryana Institute for Fiscal Management (SJHIFM) and OSD to the Chief Minister of Haryana.

The conversation encouraged students to look beyond solving technical problems and towards creating solutions that have meaningful relevance in the real world.

A thought-provoking conversation unfolded through the masterclass The Craving You Can’t Feel, exploring the relationship between weight, desire, behaviour and the brain.

Led by Prof. Jagan Srinivasan, Professor and Programme Director for Neuroscience, the session invited students to look beyond familiar assumptions and examine how neuroscience and psychology can challenge the way we understand ourselves and others.

One idea stayed with the students: sometimes, the most meaningful learning begins when we step outside familiar perspectives and listen to people who see the world differently.

Because university is also about questioning what we think we know and discovering new ways of thinking.

What does it really mean to think like a lawyer?

It begins with questioning assumptions, understanding people, respecting facts, and having the confidence to challenge your own argument.

At a guest lecture on Think Like a Lawyer, Adv. Hariraj Madhavan Rajendran, Designated Senior Advocate, High Court of Kerala and Lawyer, Supreme Court of India, engaged students of the School of Law, IILM University Gurugram in a thoughtful exploration of what it means to approach law with purpose.

The session encouraged students to look beyond simply knowing the law and understand the importance of thinking critically and purposefully on behalf of a client.

An experience where legal learning moved beyond the classroom and into the way future lawyers think, question, and listen.
