It's that time of year when some of my favorite people descend like refreshing monsoon showers in Delhi. I want to send a heartfelt shoutout to our incredible community of admissions officers, conference organizers, and counselors. Your dedication to providing access and opportunities for families seeking the right-fit institutions is truly inspiring. Thank you for the meaningful work you do every day!
I’m also organizing small group meet-ups in the coming week/weekend. If you’re interested in joining, feel free to reply. It would be great to connect!

I had a wonderful time at CNN's Breakfast Club, hosted by Toya and Sonal Mehrotra Kapoor! 🌟 It was an amazing opportunity to share my insights on studying abroad and to reconnect with Divya Balaji Kamerkar, a former Edbrand student. During our discussion, we covered some important topics:
💸 Financial concerns: It's important to encourage students to dream big but also remain pragmatic while doing research and exploring all available resources, including scholarships and grants while being realistic about their options.
🌍 Choosing the right country: I emphasized the importance of aligning academic and career goals with the strengths of educational systems in each country, as well as considering practical factors like post-study work opportunities and cultural fit.
🌟 Showcasing different facets: For students who aren't toppers, it's crucial to highlight their unique experiences, skills, and passions. Divya Balaji Kamerkar you shared great insights!
🎓 Navigating tricky scholarship situations: When students face the dilemma of choosing between a scholarship at a less preferred college and an admission offer without financial aid at their dream college, I advise them to weigh the long-term benefits of both options, considering factors like future career prospects, financial sustainability, and personal goals.
🤝 Access to guidance: For students who can't afford professional counseling, I recommend seeking advice from trusted mentors, utilizing free online resources, and engaging with university admissions offices directly to gather reliable information.
Thanks again to Toya and Sonal for the insightful conversation and to the entire team at CNN News 18 for putting together a great show! Grateful for the experience. hashtag hashtag hashtag

The thicker the file thicker the student. Don’t overdo things just to look good on your college applications.
Here’s my third article published in today’s Indian Express.
Study Abroad: What do colleges mean by ‘holistic evaluation’ of college application “Students should be honest in portraying their profile and help admissions officers get to know them the way they are. They should not be putting anything in the application just to look good. Remember that the admission officers are humans and not machines,’ education consultant Arjun Seth writ...

I’ve started writing a column on Indian Expres and the first article was published today. Although the focus for now is on study abroad but I’ll be working on student mobility topics in general. I’m keen to feature viewpoints of folks from across the spectrum. Please feel free to message your suggestions, comments and questions.
How to deal with stress and other challenges while applying to study abroad: Education consultant suggests Arjun Seth, the founder of Edbrand writes: 'For a 17-year old, the thought of stepping out of her comfort zone and settling in a campus community halfway across the globe is daunting enough. The pressure to apply to schools that they have heard of lead to a situation where they are not open to explo...

It'll probably be hard to find better schools than Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania and New York University to pursue a graduate program in education.

“Aim High, Do More.” This sums it up! Mauraya’s body of brilliant artist work in filmmaking and passion for supporting gender rights was beautifully and boldly intermeshed in his profile. It didn’t come as a surprise to me when he heard about his NYU Tisch ED acceptance. Heartiest congratulations.
