3. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
(A) The candidates, who fulfill the following eligibility conditions would be eligible for this Examination:
(a) must be a citizen of India or he/she must belong to such category of persons as may be, from time to time, be notified in this behalf by the Central Government ;
(b) have completed 05 years of continuous and actual service as Deputy Superintendent of Police in
States under State Police Service or Assistant Commandants in Central Para Military Forces (Central Reserve Police Service, Border Security Force, Indo Tibet Border Police, Central Industrial Security Force and Sashastra Seema Bal) or Officers of the Rank of Captain or Major or equivalent in the Armed Forces.
(c) should have an unblemished service record.
(B) A candidate must not have attained the age of 35 years on the 1st August, 2012 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1977. However, the upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable upto a maximum of 01 year for Other Backward Classes category candidates and 02 years for candidates belonging to a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe. The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or SecondarySchool Leaving Certificate or in a
certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University,

LEGAL TERRORISM : ANTI DOWRY LAW SEC-498A

ANTI DOWRY LAW BEING DILUTED

The Supreme Court declared 498A as "Legal Terrorism"


Present

On thursday , 19 Jan 2012, The Law Commission of India, which advises the government on legal matters, has called for changes in the anti-dowry law which if accepted will offer some relief to in-laws facing harassment charges.

Faced with a large number of complaints of misuse of the anti-dowry law, the Supreme Court had asked the panel to examine the matter. On many occasions, the courts, particularly the top court, have noted that false cases are lodged by women , angry with their in-laws.

It asked the government:
To allow women to withdraw cases against husband's family with the permission of the court in case the two sides reach a compromise.
Make a case registered under Section 498A of I, which deals with harassment for dowry and cruelty to a woman, a compoundable offence.

Simply put, it will make it easier for those booked under the section to get bail.

FAUJA SINGHs FITNESS.....AN INSPIRATION FOR YOUTH

FAUJA SINGH : WORLD CHAMPION AT 100 and A HALF !

"Fauja Singh, 100, finished Toronto's Waterfront Marathon on 16 Oct 2011, Sunday , securing his place in Guinness World Records as the oldest person — and the first centenarian — to ever accomplish a run of that distance," News reports.

Read on the ten questions answered recently by Fauja Singh to a news magazine.

Why do you run?
It makes me forget the sorrow of losing my son and wife. I feel one with God when I run. It keeps me happy and fit.

Is running in your daily routine?
If I don’t run, I walk four to five hours daily.

How difficult is it to train for a marathon?
I weigh 55 kg. When my trainer works on me, I’ve to bring it down to 52 kg. It’s difficult, but it keeps the pain away from my joints.

You are so slim. What do you eat?
I eat one roti and a little dal at meal times. I indulge in mangoes in summer, and one alsi ka laddoo each day.

Doctors have marvelled at your fitness.
I could not walk till I was five, and my legs became strong enough only when I was 15. Now, doctors in England prod my legs to see what makes them run at this age!

Advice for potential marathon runners?
Be cheerful and keep negative thoughts and negative people at bay.

The Punjab government has not recognised your achievements. Does that hurt?
I don’t do what I do for recognition. Punjab is my home state, and I’ve great affection for it.

You come to Punjab every year. Changes?
There is great injustice; no respect for a human being. When I go for a walk, my family insists that I remove my watch and purse, because drug addicts mug people.

The Guinness Book refused to recognise you as the oldest marathoner. Feelings?
How does it matter? I did not go to them; they came to see me.

How do you spend the money that comes your way?
I get an old age pension of £130 a week, but don’t keep a penny with me. Nor do I own land or property. I live in England with my son and have frugal habits. I came to India this winter with Rs 1.5 lakh. Whatever is left of it, I will donate to village tournaments.

As a centenarian marathon runner, Fauja Singh's infectious enthusiasm for life, running and healthy living should be a model for all of us.
