A week in the Himalayas.
A lifetime of perspective.
Our PGDM students recently completed their Himalayan Immersion - stepping away from classrooms and into real conversations, real communities, and real reflection.
They listened to stories at the grassroots.
Observed leadership without titles.
Questioned their own assumptions.
And took time to pause, reflect, and reconnect — with themselves and the world around them.
Some learnings don’t come from books.
They come from experiences that stay with you.
This was one of them.

What happens when management education moves beyond the classroom?
Next week, our PGDM students at SOIL Institute of Management will begin their Himalayan Immersion - one of the most meaningful learning experiences in the programme.
In the Himalayan foothills at Sidhbari and through engagement with communities connected to CORD (Chinmaya Organisation for Rural Development), students step into a different kind of classroom. Here, learning happens through observation, dialogue, reflection, and real-world understanding.
They listen to community stories, examine grassroots enterprises, reflect on their own leadership assumptions, and explore how responsible ideas can emerge from real contexts.
The Himalayan Immersion invites students to slow down, observe deeply, and reconnect leadership with awareness, humility, and responsibility.
We look forward to seeing the insights they bring back from this journey.

Just 2 days to go.
On 19th & 20th February 2026, SOIL Institute of Management hosts the 3rd International Conference under the India@100 Initiative, centred on “Circular Economy in India @100.”
India@100 demands that we think in centuries, not quarters. And nothing tests that mindset more than the circular economy - redesigning growth, resources, supply chains and leadership for a regenerative future.
This year’s conference brings together an exceptional mix of global academicians, policy thinkers and industry leaders.
Chief Guest
Manish Sharma | Former Chairman, Panasonic India
International Speakers
Dr. Philip Steenkamp – President & Vice-Chancellor, Royal Roads University
Dr. Tomoyoshi Noda – Founder, Institute of Strategic Leadership & President, Shizenkan University, Japan
Dr. Dr. Sara Vakhshouri – Founder & President, SVB Energy International
Mr. Thierry Apoteker – Chairman, TAC Economics
Special Guest
Prof. Aarti Srivastava & Head, Department of Higher and Professional Education, NIEPA
Industry Speakers

Ms. Shalini Goyal Bhalla – MD, International Council for Circular Economy | Global Expert on CE
With participation from leading academicians, policymakers, sustainability experts and industry practitioners, the conference aims to move the circular economy conversation from theory to scalable implementation.
As India approaches 100 years of independence, the question is no longer whether we can afford circularity - but whether we can afford not to design for it.

Sunil Nayyar, Managing Director & CEO, Sony India, visited the SOIL Gurgaon campus yesterday for an engaging leadership session with our students.
Hosted by the Center for Leadership and Human Values as part of the Leadership Series, the session offered a rich perspective drawn from his three-decade journey across India and international markets. He spoke about the importance of stepping beyond one’s comfort zone, embracing global exposure, and continuously evolving as a leader in dynamic environments.
Reflecting on his experience building and strengthening the Sony brand, he underscored the discipline required to balance growth with profitability, while remaining uncompromising on quality - a principle that has defined Sony’s global reputation.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students explored themes of career progression, cross-border leadership, brand stewardship, and decision-making at the highest levels of business.
At SOIL, such conversations bridge classroom learning with lived leadership experience - enabling our students to engage directly with leaders shaping global enterprises.

The 13th edition of the SOIL Premier League (SPL) reaffirmed a tradition that goes beyond sport.
Students, alumni, faculty, and staff came together on one field - competing with intensity, collaborating with spirit, and celebrating community. SPL continues to be a reminder that learning at SOIL is as much about shared experiences as it is about classrooms.
Congratulations to PGDM Junior Batch – Dominators for emerging as champions, and appreciation to every team, organiser, and volunteer who made this annual tradition possible.
At SOIL, culture is not taught - it is lived.
