What This Activity Shows
This activity helps us understand how the human digestive system works inside our body.

Steps & Explanation

Put fruit juice and water into the zip-lock bag
The fruit juice represents the food we eat.
Water represents the digestive juices present in our stomach.
Seal the zip-lock bag
The bag acts like our stomach.
Press and squeeze the bag gently
This shows how the stomach mixes and churns food.
Our stomach muscles move food around and help break it down into smaller parts.
Observe the mixture
Just like in our body, the food becomes softer and more liquid after digestion.

Conclusion
This activity teaches us that the stomach mixes food with digestive juices to help break it down so the body can absorb nutrients and get energy.
