Vikram Processor (ISRO SCL): India’s first 32-bit indigenous microprocessor for space, defence & advanced electronics.

📌 What is Semicon India?
🔻 Semicon India is the annual flagship event under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), launched in 2021 by MeitY.
🔻 Aim: To make India a global hub for semiconductor design, manufacturing & innovation.
🔻 Focus: Chip design, fabrication (fabs), assembly, packaging (ATMP), and talent development.
🔻Significance: Reduces dependency on imports (currently India imports 90% semiconductors) and strengthens electronics, defence, AI, 5G, and automotive industries.

1. SHAKTI Microprocessor (IIT Madras)
First open-source RISC-V based processor in India (2018).
Target: IoT, mobiles, embedded systems.
