Further shared with the thoughts of a student,
"I, Ms. Shivani Tiwari, student of B.Ed. at SGTU, recently completed my internship at King’s College India, Rohtak, and I wanted to take a moment to share my wonderful journey and key takeaways from this incredible experience.
As a teacher trainee, this internship wasn't just a learning opportunity—it was a transformative step in shaping my perspective on modern education and defining the kind of educator I aspire to become.
Here are some of the highlights and major learnings from my time there:
Bridging Theory and Practice (NEP 2020 in Action): What impressed me the most was seeing the core principles of NEP 2020 brought to life. I saw how theoretical frameworks translate into experiential and activity-based learning. Concepts aren't just taught; they are experienced through engaging activities, making learning genuinely exciting and deep for students.
Subject-Specific Classrooms: Instead of traditional grade-wise classrooms, the school follows a subject-wise room model. The walls of each room are creatively decorated with concepts, charts, and visual aids related to that specific subject, creating an immersive learning ecosystem the moment a student steps in.
Student Autonomy & Time Management: Moving away from traditional bell systems, students manage their schedules based on time, seamlessly transitioning between subject rooms. This fosters self-discipline, independence, and strong time-management skills from a young age.
Holistic Development: Beyond academics, there is equal weight given to co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Sports, arts, and creative pursuits are seamlessly integrated into the daily routine.
Organized Administration: The administrative framework is remarkably systematic and well-structured, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Coupled with a peaceful, green, and inspiring campus environment, it creates an ideal space for both teaching and learning.
My Takeaway as a Future Educator:
This internship bridged the gap between my teacher training coursework and real-world classroom dynamics. It gave me practical tools to create interactive learning environments, adapt to progressive international frameworks like the Cambridge curriculum, and teach with empathy and innovation.
I am deeply grateful to the leadership, staff, and students at King’s College India, Rohtak, for an incredible experience that has made me feel much more confident and inspired as I begin my teaching career!
Overall, this internship was a profoundly enriching experience. It reshaped my perspective on modern pedagogy, school management, and child-centered learning. I am deeply grateful to the leadership, staff, and students at King’s College India for making my journey so memorable and insightful! "
