The Department of Shalakya Ta**ra, Faculty of Indian Medical System, SGT University, was privileged to welcome the esteemed Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), New Delhi team โ ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ก๐ฐ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ก๐๐ฐ๐ง๐ โ for the survey and documentation of Netra Kriyakalpa procedures.
This significant academic and research initiative represents an important step towards preserving classical Ayurvedic ophthalmic knowledge, systematic documentation, and strengthening evidence-based practice.

The Faculty of Indian Medical System (FIMS) at SGT University, Gurugram, commemorated Charaka Jayanti 2026 with an auspicious event a at the Hospital Auditorium.
Organized under the auspices of the Department of Samhita Siddhanta & Sanskrit, the occasion assembled esteemed faculty, scholars, and students to pay homage to the foundational legacies of Ayurveda around the central theme, "Emerging Opportunities in Ayurveda".
The proceedings commenced with the reception of the Chief Guest, Dr. Surendra Chaudhary, National General Secretary of the Vishwa Ayurveda Parishad.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Vineeth George, Dr. Geeta Garg, Dr. Konica Gera, Dr. Kusum, Dr. Sakshi Garg, Mr. Sachidanand Vyas.
Graced by Dr. Avnish Pathak, Dean, FIMS and Dr. Vidyavati V. Hiremath, Associate Dean, FIMS.
The inauguration was marked by the traditional Dhanwantari Vandana and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp - Deep Prajwalan.
Formal welcoming addresses and opening perspectives were subsequently delivered underscoring a commitment to ethical healing and classical scholarship. Attendees solemnly undertook the Charaka oath, followed by an eloquent recitation of foundational Sutras by the students.
The centerpiece of the gathering was the Keynote Address by Dr. Surendra Chaudhary, who elucidated the evolving scope, contemporary relevance, and expanding horizons of traditional medicine within the global healthcare landscape.
The proceedings also featured a the Alankriti Cellโs 80 Days Sloka Recitation Challenge.
The event reached its formal culmination with a vote of thanks, concluding with the National Anthem.

๐ฟ World Organ Donation Day at SGT University ๐ฟ
The Department of Rachana Sharir, FIMS, SGT University celebrated World Organ Donation Day on 13th August 2026 with First Professional BAMS students.
The event was coordinated by Prof. (Dr.) Annapurna Rampur, Prof. (Dr.) Alka Tyagi, Dr. Jagjeet Singh and Dr. Monika Sharma.
Graced by Dr. (Prof.) Avnish Pathak, Dean, FIMS, and Dr. (Prof.) Vidyawati, Associate Dean, FIMS. The programme was judged by Dr. Jyoti Kumbar , HOD Dept. Of PTSR and Dr. Rekha Phull , HOD Dept. Of Kayachiktsa and hosted by Dr. Monika Sharma.
100 Students from 10 groups spread awareness through skits, role plays, short movies, rangoli, posters, reels and slogans, followed by prize distribution and inspiring addresses.

The Department of Shalya Ta**ra, Faculty of Indian Medical System (FIMS), SGT University, successfully organized an insightful Guest Lecture on โMedical Management of Surgical Disordersโ on 11 August 2026.
The session was graced by the esteemed Vd. Prasanna Narasimha Rao, Professor Emeritus, RGUHS and Director, Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Society, Ujire, as the distinguished speaker.
His extensive expertise and valuable insights into the medical management of surgical disorders provided an enriching academic experience for the faculty and students, fostering a deeper understanding of contemporary approaches to surgical care and management.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Avnish Pathak, Dean, FIMS, SGT University, setting the academic tone for the session. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Anupam Sharma, expressing sincere gratitude to the distinguished speaker, dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their valuable participation.

The Faculty of Indian Medical System (FIMS), SGT University, successfully conducted the Ph.D. Open Defense of Dr. Supriya Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Shalya Ta**ra, on 11 August 2026.
The occasion was honoured by the presence of Vd. The Department of Dravyaguna Vigyan, Faculty of Indian Medical System (FIMS), SGT University, successfully organized a Guest Lecture on โScientific Basis of Drug Action: Essential Concepts for Pharmacologyโ for 2nd Professional BAMS students on 17 July 2026.
The session was delivered by Dr. Tridib Chaira, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, SGT University, who provided an engaging and informative overview of the scientific principles underlying drug action. The lecture covered key pharmacological concepts including pharmacokinetics (ADME), pharmacodynamics, mechanisms of drug action, bioavailability, receptor interactions, and rational drug therapy. Through practical examples and interactive discussions, students gained valuable insights into how modern pharmacological concepts complement Ayurvedic education and contribute to evidence-based clinical practice.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Avnish Pathak, Dean, Faculty of Indian Medical System (FIMS), and was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. (Prof.) Vidyawati, Additional Dean & Head, Department of Dravyaguna Vigyan, along with Dr. Ravi Kaushik, Assistant Professor, and Dr. Roushani Kalia, Assistant Professor, Department of Dravyaguna Vigyan.

The Department of Rachana Sharir, Faculty of Indian Medical System (FIMS), SGT University, successfully organized a Guest Lecture on โBasic and Clinical Radiologyโ for the 1st Professional BAMS students on 28 July 2026.
The session was delivered by Col. (Dr.) Manish S. Ahuja, Professor, Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, SGT University. Through an interactive and engaging presentation, he explained the fundamentals of radiology, radiological anatomy, interpretation of common imaging modalities, and their vital role in modern clinical practice.
The programme was graced by Dr. (Prof.) Vidyawati, Additional Dean, FIMS; Prof. (Dr.) Annapurna Rampur, Head, Department of Rachana Sharir; Prof. (Dr.) Alka Tyagi, Professor; Dr. Jagjeet Singh, Assistant Professor; and Dr. Monika Sharma, Assistant Professor.

The Faculty of Indian Medical System (FIMS), SGT University, successfully organized a Guest Lecture on โResearch and Innovation in Ayurvedaโ for faculty members and undergraduate students on 23rd July 2026.
The session was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Hemant D. Toshikhane, Dean, Faculty of Ayurveda, Parul University, Vadodara, who shared valuable insights on research methodology, innovation, publication ethics, evidence-based Ayurveda, funding opportunities, and interdisciplinary collaboration. His inspiring address encouraged participants to embrace scientific thinking, strengthen the culture of quality research in Ayurveda, and nurture the next generation of young researchers.
