What we didn't learn while growing up?

While I work with people in group and private set-ups, I often here these words. "I wish I had learnt this when I was a child". Although, everything is happening at a perfect place and a perfect time, but it will surely be great if parents and teachers pay attention to nurturing the unique fragrance of every child, than cultivating them in a same manner.

So, I am jotting down a list of things that can benefit us greatly, if learnt early in life. We should learn:

• to process emotions.
• to pay attention to our intuition.
• to set boundaries, be it physical, intellectual, sexual.
• that vulnerability is our strength.
• that love is not painful and that it's safe to love again.
• to not take responsibility of how others feel.
• to not strive for perfection, rather work on giving your best.
• that we're worthy, no mattar what.
• that we deserve to feel safe and accepted.
• that our feelings are valid.
• that it's okay to be emotional.
• that being different is letting your unique fragrance grow.
• that we are never too much and always enough.

What amongst the above you're yet to learn?

"It’s my birthday tomorrow and I would like you all to present me a gift", asked a king to his ministers. He further continued, "It should be such that whenever I see it in my sad state, I should feel the happiness. And, if I see that when I'm happy, I should feel the sadness".

The ministers after burning the midnight oil decided the gift and took it to the king in the morning. A wooden box adorned with the most beautiful artwork was offered to the king. He excitedly opened the box and in the middle of the beautifully kept flowers was a note that read 'this too shall pass'.

Initially, the king was taken aback by the gift but gradually he realised how valuable this gift is. If he reads the note when he is sad, he shall be reminded of the impermanence of sadness and that it is followed by happiness. This shall lift-up the feeling of happiness in him. And if he reads the same message when happy, he shall be reminded of the impermanence of happiness and that he should stay grounded.

"Indeed! this gift is the most valuable one", said the King.

The Energy of Life is constantly moving. After every night comes the day followed by another night and so on. Nothing remains permanent. What stays in permanence is your Awareness of that which is moving. Step forward, and take the Breath of Awareness into what life has offered you.

Thank You Sneha Agarwal and Gaurav Agarwal for organising an amazing workshop. Despite of personal challenges, you did it. And I am sure, your Dad from the higher planes is so joyful for you completing this initiative. Keep it up!!
