The distinguished Resource Person, Dr. Sudesh Chaudhary (Assistant Professor, Centre of Excellence for Energy and Environmental Studies, DCRUST), delivered an invaluable technical discourse, utilizing her extensive research expertise to analyze the systemic risks of escalating global temperatures. The session was conducted by Dr. Narinder Kumar Aggarwal, Head, Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, SGT University, who shared his extensive expertise and provided in-depth insights into the procedures and significance of medical autopsies in forensic investigations.

Participants gained practical exposure to autopsy techniques, understanding of internal examinations, cause of death analysis, and medico-legal aspects involved in forensic casework.

The training emphasized the crucial role of autopsies in criminal investigations and enhanced students’ understanding of real-world forensic practices.

The School of Basic and Applied Sciences, SGT University, organized an insightful hands-on training session on β€œUnderstanding 3D Protein Structures for Structure-Based Drug Discovery: Concepts and Computational Training” on 25 March 2026 at Room No. 318, Rabindranath Tagore Block (A-Block).
The session was led by Dr. Basir Ahmad (Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi), who explained the importance of 3D protein structures, including concepts such as binding sites, conformational changes, complementary interactions, and non-covalent forces involved in protein–ligand interactions. The students got a chance to work on AutoDock Tools.
Participants gained practical exposure to 3D protein modeling, molecular docking, and structure prediction using AlphaFold, along with insights into modern techniques like X-ray crystallography, NMR, and Cryo-EM. The session also highlighted the role of AI in drug discovery and its relevance in forensic science.
