Challenges for fresh civil engineers lies in hard site conditions at project sites. Most of the people find it extremely difficult to adopt kind of work they are given once they landed up at site or even before getting into job. Companies looking for skills and knowledge from freshers most cases not taught in class.
Construction sector is mostly unorganised and very limited scope for internship or training. Training provided by educational institutes mostly provided conventional “chalta hay attitude”.
So, the major problem is with the skill that is required. Some problems are:
1. Training: Very few companies take the pain of training a fresher engineer for the site. It is self-learning process and takes long time.
2. Mentoring: Though the hierarchy of the organization has a manager or a senior engineer on your top, but many a times they don’t serve as helpful mentors, instead they try to delegate a lot of work to you.
3. Use of soft skills: lack of soft skills and handling tough situation requires proper guidance. Fresher is unaware of it
4. Lack of info about documentation: The job of a site engineer is not only to be on site and look over things. There are a lot of documentation process that he has to take care of in daily, weekly or monthly basis.
5. Lack of motivation: people think I am not paid well and working in harsh condition makes it worst.
With this view has come up with grooming fresher in require knowledge and skill to handle such situation and help them to enter and process in civil engineering field.
