Career Guidance Session at Jiya Lal Mittal D.A.V. Public School, Gurdaspur

Our school organised an enriching Career Guidance Session on 18 August 2026 under the guidance of our esteemed Principal, Mr. Rajiv Bharti, to empower students with clarity and confidence in their academic and career choices.

The sessions were conducted by Mr. Sumit Wason, an internationally certified Career Counsellor with 18 years of experience in the education sector.

🎯 “Future Frontiers: Careers of Tomorrow”
For Grades XI–XII, the session explored emerging career pathways, evolving industry trends, and future-ready skills. Students were encouraged to look beyond conventional choices and discover opportunities aligned with their interests, strengths, and aspirations.

🎓 “Stream Selection – The Gateway Ahead”
For Grades IX–X, the session focused on making informed stream choices. Students gained valuable insights into Science, Commerce, and Humanities and were encouraged to consider their aptitude, interests, personality, strengths, and long-term goals.

The highly interactive sessions witnessed enthusiastic participation, thoughtful discussions, and meaningful queries from students.

🇮🇳 80 Years of Freedom, One Nation, One Spirit! 🇮🇳

Jiya Lal Mittal D.A.V. Public School, Gurdaspur celebrated the 80th Independence Day with immense enthusiasm, dignity and patriotic fervour.

The celebration was graced by Er. Savinder Singh Gill, Chairman, Sukhjinder Group of Institutions, as the Chief Guest, along with Sh. Rajan Mittal, Chairman, Jiya Lal Mittal D.A.V. Public School, Smt. Poonam Mittal, Naman Mittal, Simran Mittal, esteemed parents and members of the school fraternity.

The guests were warmly welcomed by Sh. Rajiv Bharti, Principal, who expressed gratitude for their gracious presence.

The celebration commenced with flag hoisting, followed by a spectacular PT display, ceremonial lamp lighting and vibrant cultural performances. Students enthralled the audience with patriotic presentations, dance, Bhangra and Giddha, beautifully showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage and spirit of unity.

The inspiring addresses highlighted the importance of discipline, positive thinking, healthy living, good values, national unity and responsible citizenship. Students were encouraged to contribute meaningfully towards building a strong, progressive and harmonious India.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone filled with pride and gratitude for our nation. The Chief Guest, Er. Savinder Singh Gill, was felicitated with a memento as a token of respect and appreciation.
