MANOSTAVA – “Manasu Matanadalli… Novu Mayavagali”
Reshmi Educational and Charitable Trust’s K*m. Sharneshwari Reshmi Women’s B.Ed. College, Kalaburagi, through its NSS Unit, in association with Samvad Yuva Sampanmula Kendra, Kalaburagi, organised a one-day youth sensitisation programme titled “MANOSTAVA – Manasu Matanadalli… Novu Mayavagali” on 18th September.
The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness among youth about mental health, stress management, career pressure, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges faced by young people. The programme also aimed to encourage students to openly discuss their concerns, seek timely support, and develop a healthy and positive approach towards mental well-being.
The resource persons for the programme were Dr. Yogesh Master, Director and Student Counsellor, Bengaluru, and Ms. Alpa Devidas, Psychologist, Association of People with Disability, Kalaburagi. They delivered special lectures on youth and mental health issues, highlighting the importance of recognising emotional difficulties, communicating openly, and seeking professional help when required.
As part of the programme, students took a meaningful mental-health pledge:
“I will talk.
I will listen.
I will seek help.”
The programme also provided an opportunity for students to express their thoughts and experiences through creative activities. Students actively participated in a skit and speech competition, using these platforms to create awareness about mental health and the challenges faced by youth.
The programme served as an important platform for sensitising students towards mental well-being and promoting a culture of open communication, empathy, listening, and timely help-seeking among young people.
