Division is the trickiest of the basic math skills to learn, but itโ€™s an essential step before dividing into fractions and other higher level maths. We actually use division often in our daily lives, from shopping to cooking and schoolyard games. And by keeping this in mind, we can help division feel more accessible..

In this activity, we are using small-sized sticks to represent the numbers(dividend & divisor) of the division.
The sticks are grouped in such a way that each group must contain an equal number of sticks.

CHILDRENโ€™S DAY CELEBRATION
โ€œEvery child is a different kind of flower and all together makes this world a beautiful garden.โ€

November 14 is celebrated as Childrenโ€™s Day or Bal Diwas every year in India. The special day is celebrated in remembrance of Indiaโ€™s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, born on November 14, 1889, he was also known as Pandit Nehru. Nehru, who was fondly called Chacha Nehru or simply Chachaji, was very popular amongst children for his love. November 14 marks Nehruโ€™s devotion to welfare, education and development of children and young people.

A day marking childhood ,and to make this event a memorable for our little ones, I-Innovative International School , celebrated Childrenโ€™s Day on 14 November 2022 in the school premises. The day focused on children and their enjoyment. The day commemorated with immense joy , enthusiasm and magnificence. The tiny tots of Pre school, Pre primary and students of high school came dressed up in casual clothes and brought their favourite lunch. The celebrations began with the Morning Prayer, followed by variety of fun filled activities and games planned by the teachers for their children. All the children were given chocolates and cake some as a token of love from their teachers.

The students were overwhelmed and enjoyed the day.

Today, we've conducted an experiment "LID CANDLE UNDER GLASS" with the students of Grade 1.

Experiment: Cover a burning candle with a pitcher so that the candle is in an air-tight room sealed by the water at the ground.

Observations: After some time, the candle dims and goes out. Just before the candle dies, the water level rises to almost 1/10 th of pitcher height. No air bubbles are seen. The water level stays up for many few minutes more.

The aspect: the candle heats the air and expands it. This cancels the depletion of the oxygen temporarily and the water level stays down.

CURSIVE MAKES CHILDREN SMARTER
According to Dr. William Klemm, the โ€œMemory Medic,โ€ cursive can make children more intelligent. Practice writing by hand helps train the brain to integrate various forms of information at once, including visual and tactile inputs, while applying fine motor skills. Dr. Klemm suggests cursive can provide similar benefits to the brain as learning to play a musical instrument.

While everyone certainly needs to learn to type in todayโ€™s world, cursive handwriting has its benefits. It can be demanding to learn, but it teaches organization skills and assists children in composing their own thoughts and ideas. For those struggling with dyslexia, cursive can a part of a treatment plan to help hand-eye coordination, memory, vision-related difficulties, and other brain activities. Instead of letting handwriting die in schools, reading cursive and practice writing in cursive is an important part of a curriculum that improves childrenโ€™s cognitive and visual skills.
