In the picture below, you see members of the French 2014 World Cup team celebrating on the field.

An interesting fact is that there were actually 46 players of French origin in the 2014 World Cup. 21 of them played for France. 25 played for other nations.

Enter poaching in football; where the beautiful game takes an ugly and thrilling turn. This 18th of November, the MUNSOC shall simulate a FIFA committee to debate the same.

Round 1 of delegate applications open soon. We'll keep you posted.

In roughly six hours, delegates, reporters, editors, designers, and photographers will reach B012 (SC) and B016 (GA) to discuss the future of Yemen and Syria respectively against the background of crises.

We accepted our last online application at 6 AM. If you still want to apply, just reach any of the classrooms mentioned above at 2 PM today and you'll be allotted an available portfolio.

See you in committee.

In this picture, you see the ruins of what used to be Abs Hospital in Yemen's Hajjah Governorate. Supported by Doctors Without Borders since July 2015 to provide relief to the war-torn country's people, the facility was destroyed on the 15th of August, 2016.

Roughly an year has passed, and the Yemen crisis is still one of the least talked about crises in the world despite the world's major powers being involved in it to a great extent.

This year, the MUNSOC hopes to take a small step towards raising attention to such issues. Having a Security Council simulation dealing with the Yemen crisis in our delegation recruitment is simply the smallest bit of a larger mission to make the SNU community more aware and more conscious of the horrors of international armed conflict. We hope to see you engage with the MUNSOC for the same.

The Armenian Genocide Memorial Church in Dier ez-Zor, Syria, was constructed in 1990 to serve as a solemn reminder of the annihilation that impacted the Armenian community during the systematic extermination of 1.5 million of its members in the erstwhile Ottoman Empire.

On the 21st of September 2014, this spectacular monument was destroyed in an explosion carried out by extremists involved in the Syrian civil war, with most allegations directed at the so-called Islamic State or at the Jabhat al-Nusra organisation.

While we celebrate India's Independence today, let us also remember the communities in other parts of the world that are yet to attain freedom from hatred, racism, political conflict, and religious extremism. Countries like Syria need all the help and support they can get.
