Eco Seminar 2022

The environment is where we all meet; where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share. -Lady Bird Johnson

Hillwoods Academy organizes Eco-Seminar every year to create awareness about the significance of a healthy environment and to encourage individual accountability for environment protection. It is a platform where we come together to prove that we all share common beliefs of “Sustainable Development”.

With the aim to inspire the young generation to participate for the cause of saving our planet, the Eco-Seminar was organized on August 22, 2022. Prestigious schools of NCR and Delhi; namely, DLF World School; Holy Public School; Grads International School; Gyan Anant Vidyalaya, Atrouli; and Hillwoods Academy, Delhi participated in the various competitions which were held to stimulate and inspire the young minds. The students showcased their creativity and innovative ideas in The Voice of Brains; a Discussion and Crafts Paradise; a Creative Activity for making Best out of Waste.

The event was graced by Mr. Ramveer Tanwar- The Pond man of India, as the Chief Guest. The other Guests of Honour were Mr. Om Raizada, a Poet, Writer , Thinker and an Environmentalist; and Ms. Pooja Luthra, an artist who invests her time keenly on making Best out of Waste and Ms. Kirti Mishra Narang, a beauty pageant , Life coach and a Personality Development Expert. The Chief Guest in his address urged the students to be the pioneer and be an active supporter in the cause of reviving the dead ponds around the vicinity and to plant more and more trees to save the environment . He was also pleased to announce that the forest cover has increased considerably in Greater Noida in the recent times.

The seminar commenced with the auspicious Lamp lighting along with the rendition of Saraswati Vandana. The choir group welcomed all the dignitaries and invited guests with an impressive melodious song.

The yearly newsletter ‘Green Pages’ was released by the respected chief guest. All the students and guests pledged loyalty to the environment. An inspiring session on the revival of the dead ponds and forest area in the surroundings was undertaken by Mr. Ramveer Tanwar, an engineer by qualification who has contributed to restore and rejuvenate more than 40 ponds and lakes all over India. He shared very vital information’s about the importance of ponds and their contribution in the ecosystem. He urged each and every citizen to be the volunteer and spread awareness through latest media. The Guest of Honour Mr. Raizada in his unique lively style invoked all the children of nature to abide by their duties to protect to mother nature.

As a step towards environmental cognizance and keeping up to the promise for ‘greener environment’, saplings were planted by the distinguished guests. The winners of the competitions were felicitated by the respected judges and guests.

The program was concluded with the Vote of Thanks and with the hope to gather again with more innovative and significant ideas towards the protection of environment

Investiture Ceremony ,2022-23

The Investiture Ceremony was held on July 6, 2022 at Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida. The event is an occasion where newly elected Body of Student Council steps into the leadership role and takes an oath to deliver their duties promptly.The event took place in the presence of all the teachers and the students headed by the School Head. The young leaders were conferred with the responsible post in the Students’ Council. All the prefects and captains were honoured with the badges and sashes. Various posts like House Captains and Prefects, Club Prefects, Sports Prefect, Sports Captain, School Prefects and Captains were inducted on the occasion.
The new appointed School Captain and Prefect held the School Flag with pride. The House Flags were proudly held by the elated House Prefects and Captains.
The School Head congratulated all the elected Council Members. She urged them to take charge of School’s affairs and pledge to take it to new heights with their leadership, decision-making skills, communication, and teamwork.

The event concluded with the National Anthem.

To honour and pay homage to the unconditional love and care that the mothers bestow, Hillwoods Academy celebrated Mother's Day on 07.05.22.
The children presented their due respect and showered love through beautiful renditions; and thoughtful and perfectly synchronised dance performance.
The mothers enjoyed their special day by enthusiastically participating in the interesting fun games.
The day concluded with the address by the Head of the School in which she thanked the mothers for their wholehearted participation in the event.

Earth Day is celebrated worldwide on 22nd of April every year to remind us that “the healthier our ecosystems are, the healthier the planet – and its people”.

With an aim to prepare its students to be the engaged stewards of the environment, Hillwoods Academy celebrated Earth Day with great enthusiasm on 22.04.22. A Special Assembly was organized to advocate the causes of environmental issues like deforestation and global warming. The importance of the Earth Day was discussed to educate and inspire the next generation of environmental leaders. A poster making competition was held to motivate the students to think and express their concern for global crisis. The students and the educators took a pledge to preserve and conserve their self-sustaining planet.

With an aim to spread awareness amongst the young and old alike to protect the mother earth, students took out a rally using colourful posters and impressive placards.

The day was concluded with an urge to save the environment, restore damaged ecosystems, and to live a more sustainable life.

Hillwoods Academy proudly congratulate Kuhu Gupta of Class II for winning the gold medal in the age group 6-8 in the National Dance Championship. You are a genius!! May the present achievement be the start of tomorrow's accomplishments. Best Wishes
