Opposite Words Activity – UKG

The UKG students of GRADS International School enjoyed an engaging learning activity on Opposite Words. Through simple examples and interactive participation, the students learned word pairs such as big–small, heavy–light, up–down, happy–sad, and day–night.

The activity helped the children understand opposite words in an easy and enjoyable way while enhancing their vocabulary, observation skills, and communication skills. 🌟📚

💙🟦 Blue Square with Ice-Cream Sticks 🟦💙

Today, our little learners of LKG participated in a fun and engaging Blue Square Activity using ice-cream sticks. The children were given ice-cream sticks and encouraged to arrange them carefully to create a square shape. After making the square, they coloured it beautifully with blue colour. 🎨

This hands-on activity helped children identify and recognise the square shape and blue colour in an enjoyable way. It also supported the development of their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

The activity made learning shapes and colours more interactive, joyful, and meaningful for our young learners. The children participated enthusiastically and enjoyed creating their own colourful blue squares. 🌟✨

Learning Outcome:
Children were able to identify the square shape, recognise the blue colour, and develop their fine motor skills through a creative hands-on activity.

🍃 Leaf Stamping Activity – LKG Class

Our little learners of LKG enjoyed a creative and nature-based activity called “Leaf Stamping.” 🌿🎨 This activity provided children with an opportunity to explore the beauty and different shapes of leaves while expressing their creativity through colours.

The children were given fresh leaves of different shapes and sizes. They dipped the leaves gently into colourful paint and pressed them carefully onto a sheet of paper to create beautiful leaf impressions. They observed how each leaf made a unique pattern and enjoyed making colourful designs using the prints.

Through this engaging activity, children developed their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, observation skills, and concentration. The activity also helped them connect with nature and understand that beautiful art can be created using simple natural materials.

The cheerful participation of our little ones made the activity fun, colourful, and memorable. 🌱✨

Learning Outcome:

Zeno Van Der Zalm Returns to Grads International School Grads International School, Greater NoidaGrads International School, Greater Noida, warmly welcomed back Mr. Zeno Van Der Zalm, a Dutch educator, researcher, technology educator and passionate long-distance cyclist, following his latest cycling expedition across the Himalayas. Zeno’s challenging expedition took him through Srinagar, Shaurya Chakra, Leh, Ladakh, Namika La and the formidable Zoji La Pass, before he returned to Greater Noida. His remarkable journey once again reflected his spirit of adventure, resilience and determination. His arrival at Grads International School was celebrated with great warmth. Principal Mrs. Aditi Basu Roy, along with teachers, staff and students, welcomed him with flower garlands and tilak, while the students enthusiastically greeted him with chants of “Jai Hind!”The school shares a deep and special bond with Zeno. In 2025, he completed an extraordinary 3,000-kilometre cycling expedition across India, travelling from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, to Greater Noida in approximately four weeks. He chose Grads International School as the destination of his journey and was warmly welcomed and felicitated by Mrs. Aditi Basu Roy, teachers and members of the Greater Noida community. Zeno’s journeys reflect much more than physical endurance. His experiences across India have taught him valuable lessons in patience, gratitude, perseverance and human connection, which he continues to share with young people. As an educator, Zeno has significant experience in technology, computational thinking and special education, and has worked with Leo Kanner College in Leiden, Netherlands, using programming, robotics and technology to make learning more accessible and engaging. His latest return was not merely a homecoming but a celebration of the friendship and enduring bond between Zeno and the Grads community. As a gesture of affection, Zeno hosted a samosa party for the entire school, sharing the joy of his return with students and staff. The Grads community was delighted to welcome him back and celebrate yet another remarkable chapter of his inspiring journey.

*Celebrating India’s 80th Independence Day*

The students of Nursery celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and joy. To make the occasion special and meaningful, they participated in fun and creative tricolour activities.

In one activity, the little ones mixed colours in three glasses of water to create the beautiful *saffron, white, and green* colours of the Indian flag. In another activity, they pasted orange, white, and green heart shapes, along with the Ashoka Chakra, in sequence on an ice cream stick to create the Indian Tricolour.

The children thoroughly enjoyed these hands-on activities and participated with great excitement. Through these activities, they learned about the colours of our National Flag while celebrating the spirit of patriotism and Independence Day. 🇮🇳

*Independence Day celebrations at Grads International School* 🇮🇳

*Grads International School Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Spirit*

Grade 1A & 1B and Grade 2 students celebrated *Independence Day* with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at Grads International School.

The entire venue was filled with pride as our little ones, dressed in beautiful *tricolour dresses* — saffron, white, and green — took center stage.

The celebration began with soulful speeches by students. With confident voices, they spoke about the importance of freedom, our national heroes, and what Independence Day means to us. It was heartwarming to see young children express love for the nation so beautifully.

The highlight of the day was the *colourful dance performances*. From graceful flag-themed dances to energetic patriotic group performances, every act reflected unity in diversity. The audience was mesmerized by the energy, coordination, and joy on the faces of our tiny performers.

The event concluded with the national anthem and a message to cherish our freedom and work towards a brighter India.

It was truly a memorable day where our Grade 1 and Grade 2 students reminded us that the spirit of freedom lives on in every young heart.

*Rhyme Recitation *
Pre-primary students enthusiastically participated in a Rhyme Recitation Activity, where they recited rhymes with confidence, expressions, and actions. The activity encouraged every child to perform in front of their classmates, helping them overcome stage fear and build self-confidence.

Rhyme recitation plays a vital role in improving children's speech and language skills. It enhances pronunciation, vocabulary, fluency, and clear expression while developing effective communication skills. Such activities also foster creativity, self-expression, and a lifelong love for learning.
