A Journey of Discovery: The Kuari Pass Trek*

From April 9th to 14th, thirty-two students from Classes 8–12 set out on an unforgettable adventure to the Kuari Pass. Setting off from the base camp in Joshimath, the group traded the comforts of home for the winding trails and fresh mountain air of the Himalayas.

This trip was about much more than just trekking. As the students climbed higher, they leaned on one another for support, learning the true meaning of teamwork and patience. Whether they were helping a friend over a steep ridge or sharing stories during water breaks, they practiced social skills that can’t be taught in a classroom.

One of the most magical moments occurred at the Khullara campsite on Day 3, where the group was greeted by a gentle snowfall in the evening. The sight of the white flakes dusting the tents turned the camp into a winter wonderland, though it brought a real test of endurance. As night fell, temperatures plummeted to between -4°C and -6°C. Facing the biting cold together, the students showed incredible grit, keeping their spirits high despite the freezing conditions.

Against all odds, the students reached the summit successfully. They returned home not just with tired legs, but with a new sense of confidence and a deeper connection to nature. This trek showed them that with a little courage and a lot of heart, they can conquer any mountain.
