Srestha explored this powerful concept using a simple but amazing experiment.

🔬 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗱

A raw egg was submerged in white vinegar for 24–48 hours.
The vinegar gradually dissolved the hard 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 shell, leaving behind a 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁, 𝗿𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲 — creating a “𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗴𝗴”!

💡 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

The acetic acid in vinegar reacts with the calcium carbonate of the shell, releasing carbon dioxide (visible as bubbles) and breaking down the solid structure — demonstrating how acids dissolve calcium-based materials.

🌍 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝗶𝗱 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻

This experiment mirrors the effects of acid rain in real life:

𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 & 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Acid rain slowly erodes limestone and marble structures — just like vinegar dissolving the shell.

Even though vinegar is stronger (pH 2.5) than typical acid rain (pH 4–5), the long-term environmental impact is very real — just like what happened to our egg over time.

Ever wondered why we measure a full circle as 360°?
To uncover the answer, we travel back 4,000+ years to ancient Babylon — where mathematics, astronomy, and clever thinking shaped the world we still live in today.

The Babylonians used a 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲-60 (𝘀𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹) number system, because 60 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 — by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, and more.
It made calculations simple, especially for astronomy and timekeeping.

🌞 𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗱:

A year had about 360 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 (pre-Gregorian calendar)

The Sun appeared to shift 1 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 per day

So they divided a full rotation into 360 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀

And just like that — the 360° 𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗲 was born.

This decision also influenced:
