🚨 NMC FMGL-2021 Guidelines – 18 Nov 2021 🚨
Rules for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) enrolled in a country abroad after 18.11.2021:

EXPLANATION SIMPLIFIED

✅ Degree with Minimum 54-month duration (but course not to be less than the course in that country for local citizens). Followed by
✅ Study whole course in English language
✅ 12-month internship (in hospital affiliated to same institution in same country)
✅ This means - Degree + internship from same institution followed by
✅ Must obtain a License to Practice in the Country of study
✅ Must qualify FMGE in India Followed by
✅ 12-month internship in India

I respectfully seek an explanation from the National Medical Commission as to why its regulatory notifications governing Foreign Medical Graduates are repeatedly changed within short intervals and without maintaining consistency with previous notifications.

For example, the notification issued on 7 June 2024 was altered within days through another notification dated 19 June 2024, and now a further notification dated 5 March 2026 (published on 6 March 2026) has once again modified the regulatory position.

A student who travelled abroad in 2024, after carefully relying upon the notification dated 19 June 2024, could not reasonably foresee that another notification issued in March 2026 would alter the regulatory framework governing his or her education and future career.
