RALLI INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
HELLO SUNSHINE – SPRING FEST REPORT
GRADE I & II
SESSION 2025–26
“Spring blossoms with colours bright and cheerful days, bringing new life, fresh beginnings, and joyful learning in many ways.”
With spring in the air and sunshine all around, the ‘Hello Sunshine’ Spring Fest at Ralli International School unfolded as a vibrant two-month celebration of the season for the students of Grades I and II. It aimed to help young Rallians explore the wonders of spring through hands-on experiences, creativity, collaboration and joyful discovery.
Rooted in the belief that learning by doing helps knowledge bloom, the activities placed students at the heart of the learning process. Through engaging experiences across literacy, science,
mathematics, art, music and life skills, children observed nature, expressed ideas, built healthy habits and worked together as a team. Throughout, the students were all eyes and
ears, participating with enthusiasm and curiosity. Like spring itself, their ideas and creativity were in full bloom, and they progressed by leaps and bounds as they explored new concepts
in meaningful ways.
WEEK 1 – SPRING SONG, VOCABULARY & CRAFT
The Spring Fest began with a lively classroom conversation where students shared their own
observations about the spring season in India, blooming flowers, butterflies in gardens,
pleasant weather and fresh fruits. The discussion encouraged children to connect classroom
learning with real-life experiences. Students learned a cheerful spring song with actions,
filling the classroom with energy and laughter. New vocabulary such as blossom, garden,
butterfly, sunshine, breeze etc. was introduced through songs, pictures, and interactive
conversations. To extend their learning creatively, students crafted colourful paper flowers
and butterflies. Their artwork showed that their creativity was truly in full bloom. The
activity helped students expand vocabulary, improve rhythm and coordination, and develop
fine motor skills and teamwork, making learning as fresh as a daisy.
WEEK 2 – STRAWBERRY YOGURT MAKING
In this delightful hands-on activity, students explored spring fruits and healthy eating habits.
They learned about the nutritional benefits of fruits, especially strawberries, and discussed the
importance of hygiene while preparing food. Under the teacher’s guidance, students prepared
strawberry yogurt by mixing chopped strawberries with yogurt. They carefully followed
instructions, washed their hands, shared materials and cleaned their workspace. The children
enthusiastically lent a helping hand to one another, making the task a true team effort. The
activity soon became a piece of cake as students worked together step by step. The joy on
their faces showed they were in high spirits as they prepared and tasted their healthy snack.
This experience strengthened life skills, cooperation and awareness of healthy food choices.
WEEK 3 – BUTTERFLY LIFE CYCLE STORY
Students explored the life cycle of a butterfly, discovering the four fascinating stages: egg,
caterpillar, pupa and butterfly. The teacher used colourful charts, pictures and storytelling
to explain the process in a simple and engaging way. Children listened to a spring-themed
butterfly story and were all ears throughout the narration. After the discussion, they
completed worksheets illustrating the butterfly life cycle and some even created simple craft
models representing each stage. The activity encouraged children to observe nature closely
and understand how living things grow and change. Their curiosity helped them progress by
leaps and bounds while strengthening scientific understanding, sequencing skills and
creativity.
WEEK 4 – SPROUTS MAKING & HERBAL COLOUR CREATION
Students were introduced to the concept of seed germination and learned how plants grow.
They observed soaked seeds and discovered that water, air and sunlight are essential for plant
growth. Watching the tiny sprouts develop filled the children with excitement and curiosity.
In another creative activity, students prepared natural herbal colours using ingredients such
as turmeric, beetroot, spinach, and flower petals. They enthusiastically worked together,
showing that many hands make light work. The students realised that preparing eco-friendly
colours using natural materials was truly a piece of cake. This experience helped nurture
environmental awareness, scientific thinking and creativity, while encouraging children to
care for nature.
WEEK 5 – REGROWING VEGETABLES
In this hands-on science activity, students discovered how certain vegetables can regrow
when placed in water. The teacher demonstrated how carrot tops and celery stalks could be
placed in shallow bowls near sunlight. Over the following days, students carefully observed
the changes and noticed tiny green leaves beginning to grow. They documented their
observations and eagerly discussed their findings in class.
The experience sparked curiosity and patience, helping students understand that plants have
the amazing ability to renew themselves. By caring for the plants together, students realised
that small efforts can make a big difference. The activity strengthened observation skills,
environmental awareness and respect for nature.
WEEK 6 – EXPLORING SYMMETRY
Mathematics came alive when students explored the concept of symmetry through familiar
examples such as butterflies and flowers. The teacher demonstrated how both sides of an
object can look the same when divided by a line of symmetry. Students then worked on
creative symmetry worksheets where they painted half a shape and folded the paper to create
matching patterns on the other side. Some also cut shapes to observe how both halves aligned
perfectly. The children were all eyes and ears during the demonstration and completed their
work with flying colours. This engaging activity helped them understand symmetry by leaps
and bounds, while strengthening creativity, observation and fine motor skills.
WEEK 7 – FRUIT FLOWER CRACKERS
Students participated in a fun and healthy snack-making activity by creating fruit flower
crackers. Using crackers as the base, they arranged fruits such as bananas, strawberries, and
grapes to form colourful flower designs. The teacher guided them on food hygiene and
healthy eating habits, including washing hands and keeping the workspace clean. Students
carefully placed each fruit piece to complete their creative designs. Working together, they
lent a helping hand to their classmates and proudly displayed their creations. The activity
quickly became a piece of cake and students completed their designs with flying colours. It
encouraged healthy eating, creativity, teamwork and fine motor development.
WEEK 8 – DANCE, MINIBEAST MOVEMENT & FLOWER RANGOLI
The final week of the Spring Fest was filled with joy, movement and creativity. Students
danced with colourful dupattas, moving rhythmically to cheerful music. The classroom
buzzed with energy as children expressed themselves through movement. Next, they imitated
the movements of garden creatures such as butterflies, beetles and earthworms, fluttering,
crawling and wriggling around the room. These playful activities allowed children to learn by
doing while developing coordination and imagination.
To conclude the celebration, students created a beautiful flower rangoli using petals, leaves,
and natural materials. Carefully arranging the colours and patterns, they worked together to
design vibrant artwork that brightened the classroom. The joyful experience reminded
everyone that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, and learning becomes most
meaningful when it is fun, creative, and shared with friends.
The highlight of the week was the Spring Storytelling Performance. Students came
together to act out a spring-themed story on stage, bringing characters to life through
expressions, simple costumes and lively dialogue. Their confidence and enthusiasm shone
brightly as they performed in front of their peers and teachers. The young performers truly
stole the show, and the audience applauded their efforts with great joy. To make the
presentation even more engaging, the students also presented a cheerful spring song and a
coordinated dance performance as part of the story. Their enthusiastic singing and graceful
movements added colour and energy to the performance. The young performers truly stole
the show, and the audience applauded their efforts warmly.
The ‘Hello Sunshine Spring Fest’ was a delightful journey of discovery where learning
blossomed naturally through joyful experiences. Over the course of approximately two
months, students explored nature, developed important life skills and strengthened their
creativity and confidence. The fest truly brought the spirit of spring into the classroom where
curiosity bloomed, friendships flourished and young learners grew by leaps and bounds.
Through collaborative activities and experiential learning, students discovered that when
curiosity is nurtured, learning blossoms just like flowers in spring.
