The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology proudly announces the successful completion of the DST-funded project titled “𝐼𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑓 𝐺𝑟𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑇𝑒𝑐ℎ𝑛𝑜𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑦 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑑 & 𝑆𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝐷𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐶𝑎𝑝𝑎𝑐𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝐵𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑜𝑓 𝑎 𝐿𝑜𝑤-𝐼𝑛𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑉𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑈𝑡𝑡𝑎𝑟 𝑃𝑟𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑠ℎ”, sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology with a sanctioned cost of ₹1.0228 Crores.

The project was led by Dr. Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Head, Mechanical Engineering Department and Principal Investigator, along with Dr. Suneel Kumar, Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR-NEERI Nagpur, and Mr. Praveen Gautam, Assistant Professor, RKGIT.

During the field visit on 22 January 2026, DST officials reviewed the implemented technologies, and the project assets were formally handed over to the Gram Panchayat in the presence of officials and community members, ensuring long-term sustainability and community ownership. The final review meeting was held online at the DST Office on 27 April 2026, marking the successful completion of the project.

Key Achievements:
✔️ 60 KLD PHYTORID wastewater treatment system
✔️ Village pond rejuvenation & groundwater recharge
✔️ 3.3 kW solar-powered sprinkler irrigation system
✔️ 16 solar-powered 20W LED street lights
✔️ Improvement in groundwater & agricultural sustainability
✔️ Capacity building and technology transfer
