Mangalbaria, West Sikkim | June 5, 2026
Noble English School, Mangalbaria, West Sikkim, celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment towards environmental conservation on 5th June 2026. The highlight of the celebration was a Model Exhibition, in which a total of seven schools from Mangalbaria and the surrounding localities participated.
The programme commenced with a tree plantation ceremony, symbolising the collective responsibility of protecting and preserving nature. The plantation was carried out by the Director, Principal, Student Management Committee (SMC) members, and the students of Noble English School, marking the beginning of the day's celebration with a meaningful environmental initiative.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including SMC Vice Chairman Shri Rajen D**g and Advisor Shri Kamal Gurung, who joined the school community in promoting the message of environmental awareness and sustainable living.
The programme was smoothly anchored by Master Anish Tamang, a student of Class IX, who served as the Master of Ceremonies. The gathering was warmly welcomed by the Principal, Madam Eva Chamling, through her inspiring Welcome Address. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of protecting the environment and encouraged students to become responsible citizens by adopting eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
Students from Nursery to Class X, along with their respective class teachers, actively participated in the exhibition by presenting innovative and creative models made entirely from waste and recyclable materials. The exhibits beautifully demonstrated the importance of the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—while showcasing practical ideas for conserving natural resources, reducing pollution, and creating a greener and healthier planet.
The exhibition attracted enthusiastic participation from the visiting schools. The students confidently explained the concepts, objectives, and environmental significance of their models to the visitors, displaying remarkable creativity, teamwork, and scientific understanding. The interaction provided an excellent platform for exchanging ideas and spreading awareness about environmental protection among young learners.
The celebration concluded with appreciation for all the participating schools, teachers, guests, and students whose dedication and active involvement made the programme a memorable success. Through this meaningful initiative, Noble English School once again reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious citizens and inspiring the younger generation to work together for a cleaner, greener, and pollution-free future.
