Darap, 29 July 2026: As part of Cyber Fraud Awareness Month, a Cyber Fraud Awareness Programme was successfully organized at Damber Singh Limboo Memorial (DSLM) Government Senior Secondary School, Darap, by the Gyalshing District Police under the guidance of SDPO Gyalshing Sir Bimal Gurung in collaboration with Darap OP. The programme aimed to educate students and staff about the growing threat of cybercrime and the importance of safe online practices.
The resource persons from Gyalshing District Police explained various forms of cyber fraud, including fake investment schemes, OTP scams, online shopping fraud, UPI fraud, identity theft, and social media scams. Students were advised never to share confidential information such as OTPs, passwords, ATM PINs, or bank account details with anyone. The officers also highlighted the importance of using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and verifying suspicious calls, messages, and links before responding. The participants were informed about the National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 and the Cyber Crime Reporting Portal for reporting cyber fraud at the earliest.
The session was highly interactive, with students enthusiastically participating by asking questions and sharing their experiences related to online safety. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the officers of Gyalshing District Police for conducting such an informative and awareness-oriented session. The event proved to be highly beneficial in promoting responsible digital behaviour and creating awareness about cyber security among the students and staff of the school✨✨
