*Collapsing Infrastructure in Bihar – A Question of Policy, Not Talent*💤

Every time a bridge or major infrastructure collapses in Bihar, the common refrain is: "Bihar needs good engineers."
But the real question is: "Does the Bihar government truly want good engineers in its system?"

Despite having talented graduates from IITs, NITs, and other top institutions – many of them medalists and rank-holders – the policy framework fails them.

Take the recent BPSC AE exam for example:

Contractual candidates are being awarded 133 marks out of 400.

This not only undermines merit but also discourages deserving aspirants who leave top MNCs or prepare sincerely for years to serve their home state.

A fair scheme would be 375 (exam) + 25 (experience) = 400 marks, not this distorted distribution.

Bihar doesn’t lack talent. It lacks a system that values merit, integrity, and genuine service. If we continue on this path, the very engineers who can transform Bihar’s infrastructure will be forced to look elsewhere.

· It’s time to scrap the 133-mark policy and bring back fairness.
· It’s time to create a system where top talent feels respected and motivated to serve Bihar.
