🎨 Udyan Digital Literacy | Empowering Teachers Through Canva

As part of the 2-day Digital Literacy Teacher Training conducted by Karunodaya Foundation, Day 1 was dedicated to Canva. A total of 30 teachers — 20 from Middle Schools and 10 from High Schools — participated in the hands-on training.

The session covered Canva’s interface, key tools, templates, design features, AI integration, and practical classroom applications. Teachers explored how Canva can be used to create engaging learning materials, presentations, posters, worksheets, and other digital content.

A special session by Sagrika Ma’am introduced teachers to the journey and evolution of Canva and showcased how organizations are using Canva for websites, communication, and digital content creation.

The training also focused on helping teachers build the confidence to use Canva independently in their classrooms and school activities.

Kumari Nisha, Gauri Kanya High School, shared:

“पहले मैंने कभी Canva का इस्तेमाल नहीं किया था। Training के दौरान मैंने सीखा कि Canva AI की मदद से images और templates कैसे generate किए जा सकते हैं। ChatGPT और Canva को connect करके AI-generated content का editable version Canva में लेकर उसे अपनी जरूरत के अनुसार edit करना भी सीखा।”

💻 Udyan Digital Literacy | From Teachers to Students

The 2-day Digital Literacy Teacher Training, a collaboration between Asia Initiatives eka Social Capital Initiatives (SCI) and Karunodaya FoundationKarunodaya Foundation, equipped teachers with practical skills in Canva, prompt designing, AI image generation, video creation using Google Flow, and voice generation using ElevenLabs. 🤖✨

Now, these skills will move beyond the training room—teachers will take them to their classrooms and help students of Grades 7, 8 & 11 explore, create, and learn with technology.

🛡️ Building Safer Workplaces | POSH Awareness Session

Karunodaya Foundation hosted an insightful POSH Awareness Session in the presence of Vijayalakshmi Ma’am and Nidhi Arora Ma’am, with the entire team and ICC members participating.

The session traced the journey from the powerful story of Bhanwari Devi to the Vishaka Guidelines (1997) and the POSH Act, 2013, which strengthened the framework for preventing and addressing sexual harassment at the workplace.

More than understanding the law, the session reminded us of our collective responsibility to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace. 🌸

We are proud and happy to see digital classrooms taking shape in schools across Gaya, Bihar. 💻📚✨ One School At A Time (OSAAT) is playing an important role in enabling this transformation, while Karunodaya Foundation Foundation is supporting its implementation on the ground. 🤝

Under the ODiSI Program, OSAAT and Karunodaya Foundation conducted a hands-on training for 20 teachers from OSAAT Digital Schools, empowering them with practical digital teaching skills. 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

Teachers explored Chamilo Classroom, digital assessments, offline learning content, and ChatGPT, learning how to create digital classrooms, add courses and students, share resources, post assignments, conduct quizzes, and evaluate learning. 🖥️📝

With continued OSC support and digital devices such as laptops and tablets, we are moving towards more engaging, interactive, and technology-enabled classrooms for students of Classes 6–8. 🚀💡

It is truly a moment of pride to be part of this journey and contribute to the digital transformation of schools in Gaya, Bihar. 🌱🏫

📚 Strengthening Literacy Through Libraries | Wipro Foundation Visit

We were happy to welcome Roshni and Ashwin from Wipro Foundation to Karunodaya Foundation for a meaningful learning and reflection journey.

Their visit brought a fresh perspective to our Literacy & Library Program. Through discussions with our team and visits to government schools, they closely observed how libraries and reading activities are being integrated into everyday classroom learning.

From Read-Aloud sessions and book-based activities to teachers’ library practices and children’s engagement, the visit helped highlight both the progress we have made and the areas where we can strengthen our work further.

Their thoughtful questions and feedback encouraged us to look deeper into student learning outcomes, documentation, facilitator capacity, and showcasing children’s growth through their learning journeys.

📚 Teacher Training at Gaya | LLP-2

32 teachers from 19 schools actively participated in the LLP-2 Teacher Training at DIET Teacher Training Centre, Gaya, focusing on strengthening children’s reading skills and making libraries more engaging learning spaces.

The three-day gathering provided a platform to share program updates, ground-level experiences, team journeys, and exposure sessions.

# # **Teachers' Brunch 2026: Celebrating the Hearts Behind Learning** 🌸

**"When teachers connect, communities grow and learning flourishes."**

We were delighted to host the **Teachers' Brunch 2026**, bringing together **70 teachers** from our LLP program schools for an evening of appreciation, connection, and celebration.

The event was graced by distinguished guests from the **DEO Office**, **DIET Gaya**, and **Shri Nityam Kumar Gaurav Ji (SSA DPO)**. All our esteemed guests were warmly welcomed and felicitated with **bouquets and traditional shawls** as a token of gratitude for their valuable presence and continued support.

The celebration featured engaging activities, including a fun-filled **Bingo game** and a unique talent-sharing session where teachers showcased their hidden talents through **songs, poetry, and shayari**, creating memorable moments of joy and togetherness. The evening concluded with a delightful dinner, strengthening relationships and celebrating the incredible contribution of educators.

A special note of gratitude to **Dr. Lety Banks, Abako Foundation**, whose vision and leadership were instrumental in conceptualizing and organizing this wonderful gathering.
