*SHOULD RESPECT SHOWN TO STUDENTS INSIDE CLASSROOMS BE FORGOTTEN ONCE THEY STEP ONTO THE STREETS ????*

Education is the foundation of a nation's future. That is why it is deeply concerning when students repeatedly face uncertainty, confusion, and administrative failures.
CBSE and government guidelines rightly prohibit physical and mental punishment in schools, emphasizing that every child deserves dignity, respect, and protection.
Yet, when students gathered to protest over examination-related issues and concerns affecting their future, reports and videos of police action, including lathi-charge, sparked nationwide debate. Many citizens questioned whether the same respect shown to students inside classrooms is forgotten once they step onto the streets.
The concerns raised by students extend beyond a single protest:
Questions surrounding the timely availability of NCERT textbooks have left students and schools struggling. Many have asked why shortages occurred and whether better planning could have prevented them, especially if curriculum revisions were anticipated well in advance.
Questions have also been raised publicly regarding the NCERT textbook printing and tender process. These concerns deserve transparent clarification from the concerned authorities.
Allegations regarding OSM portal disruptions and hacking created anxiety among students and parents. If cybersecurity failures occurred, accountability and stronger safeguards are essential.
Many students also questioned why their second-board examination results appeared identical to their first-board results in some cases. If this was due to a technical issue or administrative error, students deserve a clear and detailed explanation.
These issues point to a larger question:
Who is responsible?
When examination systems fail, when books do not reach students on time, when digital platforms face disruptions, and when students are left confused about their results, responsibility cannot simply disappear into bureaucracy.
Students fulfil their responsibilities by studying. Parents fulfil theirs by investing in their children's education. Teachers fulfil theirs by preparing students every day.
Government institutions and examination authorities must also fulfil their responsibility—with transparency, accountability, planning, and timely communication.
In a democracy, students asking questions should not be seen as a problem. Their concerns deserve answers, not uncertainty.
A strong government is not one that silences criticism; it is one that responds to it with honesty, accepts responsibility where mistakes have occurred, and takes corrective action. That is how public trust is earned.
