Understanding Autism; Building Bridges towards Acceptance, Respect & Inclusion.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects communication, social interaction, behaviour, and sensory processing.

On the occassion of World Autism Awareness Day, the Department of Linguistics and Language Technology, Tezpur University, organized a Webinar on Autism Spectrum Disorder titled “Understanding Autism; Building Bridges towards Acceptance, Respect & Inclusion.”

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects communication, social interaction, behaviour, and sensory processing. The webinar aims to shed light on understanding individuals, especially children, on the autism spectrum and to foster supportive environments that recognise strengths, respect differences, and promote inclusion.

The session was delivered by Dr. Shreya Barbara, Autism Therapeutic Specialist, Iksha Education and Research Centre, Guwahati. She is an alumnus of JNU and a distinguished professional who supports individuals with autism through assessments and therapeutic interventions to enhance communication, social interaction, adaptive skills, and overall development.
