Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film & Television Institute

A group of 44 ACS Officer Trainees from the 2026 batch visited DBHRGFTI on 19th June, 2026, as part of an exposure programme focused on filmmaking and gaining insights into the creative process of a film institute.

On the occasion of Rabha Divas, DBHRGFTI pays heartfelt homage to Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha, whose unwavering dedication and immense contributions have enriched Assam’s cultural landscape and continue to inspire generations with his timeless legacy.

Today DBHRGFTI celebrated World Environment Day 2026 in collaboration with Changsari Adarsha H.S. School at the institute campus and Changsari Adarsha Higher Secondary School.

We are happy to share that two of our student project "Echoes of Emptiness" (পাৰ ভঙা বাট) and "THE LAST HERD" (মৈশাল) has been selected for the Curated Section (Non-Competition) of the 19th Mumbai International Film Festival for Documentary, Short and Animation Films (MIFF 2026), scheduled to be held in Mumbai from 15 June to 21 June 2026.

Trihangku Lahkar won two awards at the 20th Indian Recording Arts Academy Awards(iraa.awards).
1. Dekh Tamasha---- Panchayat S4 Song Recording and Mixing --- Web Series (Hindi).
2. Sab Thehra Hai --- Durlav Prasad Ki Dusri Shadi – Song Recording/ Mixing / Mastering --- Hindi Film.
Another very talented alumni Anirban Barthakur won the Best Sound Design for the Film “Arms of a Man(WT). For the same film He also won Best Sound Designer in the Sundance Film Festival 2025.
