Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Assam down town University, successfully organized an “Expert Session on Motivation, Innovation, and Leadership for Entrepreneurship and Startups” on 13 February 2026.
The session by Mr. Zafiur Rahman, Co-founder and Regional Head of Chailo, provided valuable insights into entrepreneurial leadership, innovation-driven problem solving, startup opportunities, and government support schemes for entrepreneurs. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and interactive engagement from students and faculty members.

The students of the Faculty of Computer Technology, Assam down town University, participated in an insightful exposure visit to STPI Guwahati organized under the initiative of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Directorate of Innovation, Startup and Acceleration. The visit provided valuable exposure to the startup ecosystem, innovation infrastructure and technology-driven entrepreneurship opportunities.

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Assam down town University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (FPAR), successfully organized a Workshop on “Innovate to Rehabilitate: Design Thinking in Orthotics & Prosthetics” on 27 March 2026 at K Block.
The workshop featured insightful sessions by Mr. Mritunjay Kumar and Mr. Nilotpal Baruah, focusing on design thinking, user-centered innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and rehabilitation technology. The session provided valuable exposure to students and faculty members on the role of innovation and practical problem-solving in Orthotics and Prosthetics.

Assam down town University successfully conducted a five-hour session on “Angel Investment/VC Funding Opportunities for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs” on 18th August 2025, organized by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with the Directorate of Innovation, Startup & Acceleration (DISA).
The session, delivered by Mr. Sanjib Chamuah, provided valuable insights into the investment landscape for startups, covering funding models, investor expectations, pitch preparation, legal and financial frameworks, and real-world case studies.
With active participation from 120 students, the session featured interactive discussions, Q&A, and simulated pitch exercises, helping participants understand how to approach investors strategically and build scalable ventures.
This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to fostering an innovation-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem among students.

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), in collaboration with the Directorate of Innovation, Startup & Acceleration (DISA), successfully conducted a Workshop on Prototype/Process Design and Development on 11 June 2025 at Assam down town University.
The session was led by Mr. Sanjib Chamuah, Innovation Officer, DISA, and was attended by students from the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Computer Technology. The workshop provided participants with valuable insights into the role of prototyping in innovation and startups, covering concept design, iterative development, and process refinement.
A key highlight of the event was the hands-on digital prototyping session using Tinkercad, where students designed and simulated basic product models and electronic circuits, fostering creativity and practical problem-solving.
